That was crazy how much grace you gave that mom….hearing how she spoke about her 7 year old baby made me literally nauseous. I feel bad for the stuff she’s gone through but to talk about a human that way…and not just a human…but your own child. That was so disgusting.

A neighbor girl( 7yr old) tells my daughter (6yrs old)... After she calls out for her dad - "no you don't say that. Don't call him daddy. He's your dad say DAAADDD". I came in hot...."why do you think you can dictate my daughters language and the way she speaks. Don't do that!!! I do not like that at all, don't ever do that again! Don't!!!!" This girl has already done other things that have clearly crossed a line. Telling my daughter her shirt was inappropriate.... She goes to change her clothes and I'm like babe what you doing?? "Changing". Like oh, okay.... (I didn't know yet what that girl said to my daughter) I come out of the bedroom for my daughter to change and I'm just standing in the dining area, this girl looks up at me and says "you know she can't wear that she can't wear a shirt like that especially to school a little girl wearing something like that that is like really inappropriate". By the way there was absolutely nothing wrong with her outfit or inappropriate about it. She was wearing high-waist jeans with a roughly tight shirt with poofy shoulders.... It was in fact a little short, but that's exactly why I put her in the higher waist jeans 🤨 when I tell you, I was pissed. I WAS. FKIIIINNNGGGG. PIIIIISSSED. You don't get to tell me what I can dress my daughter in &what I can buy for her clothing. Furthermore, don't you fucking DARE look at my daughter &tell her her clothing is inappropriate. These girls are gonna have strangers commenting on their bodies &clothing for the rest of their lives simply because they're girls....I'm not fking okay with this. For it to be from a "friend".... Another litttttle girl!!! And my kid had to hear this already at SIX YRS OLD?! She was so insecure after that, head down wondering - but....🥺 What if someone makes fun of me for my shirt.- y'all ...broke me. It broke me. This lil girl is supposed to be one of her lil friends &idk where tf she learned to speak like that to friends, to other adults ...but wow.

I know this episode is older but I’m just listening now and I’m sorry but your brother was irking me. Each story there was something he just DIDNT pay attention to and hinged his opinion on it over and over ex: second story “oh he just stormed out and didn’t walk to his wife” when he clearly said he’s talked to her over and over and over and she just told him not to think with his “little guy” cause not everything is about sex while simultaneously teasing him constantly which at some point how is that not abusive as that’s got to be torture. How long is he supposed to be abused and try to talk it out? Three years is long enough. Also. Please DO NOT refer to the soon theory for regular everyday things. The spoonies and the spoon theory is used to describe disabilities, chronic illness and things we have to deal with that the average person does not understand. If you read that story and your take from it was to apply it to everyday situations and generic struggles of like stress and relationship troubles, you need to read it again. It honestly came off as ignorant and ableist. Please do better.

For story 2: I’m sorry but I would’ve called the cops the SECOND she told me she put her breast in my child’s mouth. That is WILDLY inappropriate to do without the parents consent. I understand the MIL was trying to help and this wasn’t some sexual innuendo , but what in the actual fuck has to be wrong with you to put your BREAST in a child’s mouth that is NOT YOURS without the parents consent to do so! YOU ARE NOT THE PARENT. You do not get to make those types of decisions regardless of intent. Shes lucky he didn’t press sexual assault charges or something because I sure as shit would’ve been pushing for a little bit more than “trespassing” if she put her fucking tit in my kids mouth. I would have told her to get the hell out of my house and she would never be alone around my child again. Supervised visits only from this point forward.

My wife and I call each other names all the time, but never in an argument. It's always in a friendly way and has never been an issue. We just like to talk shit in a jokey way. 🤷‍♂️ I showed my wife that story, and she said the girl was wildly over dramatic.

Story 7: Dolphin Masturbation. OK, it's NOT super creepy. The head scientist was an IDIOT. His underling was trying to train dolphins to speak English instead of us learn how to communicate with them, because her boss was a huge muppet. She found out that male dolphins FOCUS on the tasks better if you jerk them off first. So, she'd just have to jerk off the boy dolphins before doing science studies otherwise they wouldn't cooperate. ALSO: dolphin sperm is regularly collected at aquariums, and so you have to have a DEDICATED dolphin jerker otherwise boy dolphins will just whip their dicks out EVERYTIME they see the poor poor person whose job that is... you don't want that infront of kids. If that guy goes to "feed" the dolphins it's going to be a quick show.

The story about the bleach plants- that pyscho man needs to be on some kind of public list and OP should warn the new girlfriend. That man needs to be in prison. I'm so happy OP and her daughter are safe but them just getting away isn't enough imo. He needs to pay for what he's done and all the red flags he's shown to what he can possibly do in the future. He needs to be locked up somehwere and not free to walk the streets.

I heard someone discuss the Plant story guy and how he was so scary and would escalate due to his resentment. That man would absolutely have become a family annihilator if she stayed. He was too comfortable hurting them both and it’s scary how quickly he ditched his friend group too.

Story 3: It was probably deep fakes. This dude has ISSUES. This dude needs to be put away before he hurts MORE people. He probably used her Facebook and stuff to train an AI to make Deep Fake porn of her. Just having to type those words makes me want to vomit in my mouth. Story 5: SHE HITS HIM! THIS IS DOMESTIC VIOLANCE.

To the mom in that last story: your daughter will forgive you. My mom *still* apologizes for not protecting me more as a child, and I’m nearly 30. But every time I tell her it’s okay and remind her that she was also being abused. You got her out, and you will keep her out, and she will see her mom as a strong woman who did what she needed to do to protect her daughter.

As someone whose bf painted the house they were going to live in together without their consulting and used it as a “surprise” it’s not really about the color of the paint. It’s about going behind someone’s back on a BIG decision that the wife wanted to do TOGETHER. And I don’t feel like you have to thank someone for something that you didn’t ask for/know about. Husband is TA and needs to realize that those types of projects needs to be communicated BEFORE decisions are made and done with.

i related to the paint one so much. there are just some things you shouldn’t do as a surprise. Me personally, i would be upset i wasn’t included. like what you said about color theory, i prefer warmer colors in my home, my fiance def cannot distinguish undertones in colors and if he just picked a random dark green that didnt fit my vibe id be upset. i might not react so drastically but why are you painting OUR shared space without me. Also, something similar but less permanent happened to me, when my fiance and i first moved i went out to go pick up our dining table while he stayed at home to wait for the internet/cable guy and when i got back they both had hung our living room TV WAYYYY too high, i mean its like 2 inches from the ceiling. and unfortunately we don’t have the tools to fix it, nor is my fiance willing to fix it because its “not a big deal,” and “too much work.” I even joke (not really joke) that im going to hire a handy man to fix it, which upsets my fiance. But it bothers me so much, and I have OCD, which makes looking at/watching this TV incredibly distracting, i can’t just ignore it. If he did something more permanent/difficult to fix like painting the walls a color i didn’t like, not only would i be upset, but i feel it would make me physically uncomfortable. to make a long story short, just buy her flowers and make her dinner, that’s an excellent surprise edit again lol: i think the only way this surprise would’ve worked, is if they already had paint picked out, and maybe don’t have time to paint yet so he surprised her by doing it for her while she was gone. that way it’s a nice surprise she didn’t have to do the work painting, but she gets the color she approved.

This Episode is NOT OK! I’m only on the 3rd story. Blaming a person for being scared of food contamination after we just survived a global pandemiC is crazy!!! It’s not about the cost, it’s about feeling safe! It’s insanity to judge someone for having boundaries. Boundaries exist for a reason! Throwing a tantrum because ur partner won’t eat something is a huge red flag 🚩 & you guys are making excuses for them. AWFUL ENERGY! Please don’t bring this person back! Clicking off!

I came here because I’ve listened to all the „Smosh reads Reddit stories“ episodes and this podcast was mentioned there… But the amount of times this host uses the words „literally“ and „like“ are insufferable. I’m wondering if this is actually some sort of „American Girl“ satire.

The necrophilia story.... I think you'll find that necrophilia is not about being gay or straight, it's about control. He was probably able to explain away his attraction with a corpse by dehumanizing it. Easier to dissociate if they are abusing now what they are attracted to. Goes back to the control thing.

the paint story… my boyfriend’s dad is exactly like that. yesterday, while my boyfriend wasn’t home, he went out and bought a roughly used washer and dryer for $200, even though my bf has REPEATEDLY told him not to do that & they should just get a new one. we came home, saw that he threw away the washer/dryer we already had, brought the “new” ones down, while banging up the wall. it had mold inside. his excuse was “we needed one.” now my bf has to take everything out and buy new stuff asap. his dad always does this and it literally drives my bf crazy

I think the paint story, isn't about the paint. She's asked him so many times to please involve her and explained she doesn't enjoy the surprises. But hubs keeps forcing surprises on her. I feel like yall are focusing too much on the actual things he did and not the communication behind it. I don't care if you buy a ping pong table as long as we have the money, but where are we gonna put it?! I said I wanted a green room but I've expressed so many times that I don't want you to surprise me with big things in the home. Now time and money has to be spent to fix what he did. If I tell u I love books and would like one for Christmas, and u buy me a pair of earrings, why should I be thankful when I don't even have pierced ears ya know? Lol Shes frustrated he's not listening and now her feelings have to swept under the rug so his feelings aren't hurt about this surprise.

I've been pole dancing for over ten years and the guys I've dated unfortunately had the same reaction as that pole dancing story. Some wanted me to stop pole dancing after we became serious. It's their weird idea that they don't want the woman that they're with to be "slutty" but they dehumanize other woman who they would just want to hook up with or see as sexual objects for their pleasure. I don't know if I'm explaining this well enough but it's disgusting behavior overall. I had an ex said "well I don't respect those women but I respect you so I don't want you to pole" I'm like but shouldn't we all be treated with basic respect? Spicy dancers are humans too! Sorry if I am not explaining this well. I'm writing out of passionate confusion and rage.

Moral of the story for the painting husband: give up on surprises bro. Depending on the spouse it’s futility to even try. Better yet, move on from giving gifts. You’ll never get it right. Just let her buy it. Go with her. But be prepared for her to just not want anything.
