From 2010 to 2013 there was a huge boom in popularity for zombie related media. It doesn't surprise me that much Nickelodeon commissioned bumpers with their most recent characters made into zombies. Holy shit those Nicktoons Zombified bumpers are genuinely scary. It's definitely partially to do with the cheap, jank motion tweening animation, but the designs plus the filters over the videos are horrifying enough on their own. Definitely one of those bits of lost media that was intentionally scrubbed from existence, I can't imagine how many kids ran screaming and crying to their parents after seeing that shit. As a kid who grew up with Tails Doll and early Sonic.exe, I'm glad there's still creepy Sonic content going around. I remember being genuinely terrified by those zombified bumpers, they aired the mighty B one at like 2 am or sometime late. Bessie calls out to her dog Happy before saying "this is awesome..." in a really low and distorted voice while her glasses fall revealing oddly detailed rotting eyes all in a sudden punch in close up. One of the first times my anxiety disorder actually kicked in during my childhood and it took several days to get over the panic that ad gave me since I hadn't dealt with such a thing before, hence why I can remember the details vividly. Every time they aired the bumpers it would start with a dark grey-green nicktoons logo and their announcer saying "nicktoons is getting zombified" which was my cue to frantically scramble for the remote and change the channel or turn off the tv in fear of having another panic attack. It's not that they caused my anxiety, they were just shocking and out of place enough to trigger it as it developed in early adolescence. Such a weird coincidence that I hadn't thought about for years until this video.

Hey, so I have some very vivid memories about Nickelodeon Halloween bumpers that MAY help a little with the Zombified search! There were a couple mentions of possible Avatar bumper, mentioning one where "Aang is just... dead." I know exactly what that one was, and it's not related to Zombified. In October 2007 during "Shocktober" there were bumpers that imagined Nickelodeon characters as Halloween staples, though I don't think there was any animation to them, just quick pans over a still image before showing it fully. Two of them were Aang as a skeleton with the blue arrow on his skull, and Katara as a vampire. And I can say all this with confidence because I found an old post I had made online from November 2007 that talked about those Avatar Shocktober bumpers.

Oh, I actually remember the zombified nicktoons bumpers back when they were airing. I’ve actually been looking for them almost years now mainly because I was curious to if they’re were as scary as I remember as a kid. The one I most remember vividly though is the mighty b one since it was the most common. I can recall it played out with Bessie making her way through the hall saying Happy’s name in a deep voice. It scared me a TON as a kid. I also remembered that these only played on the nicktoons channel as well.

I want to find a short I saw when I was a kid in late 90's early 00's. I watched it on a channel called LOCOMOTION (I don't know if it was a channel just here in Latin America or if it was an international version of other network). That channel used to stream content mostly for young adults. There was a segment that aired mostly near midnight called LOCOTOMIA that showed short films and animations. The short I'm talking about was in "clay motion" (it reminds me now that chicken movie made in this format) and I recall it was about a society in which everyone does what they're supposed to: everyone goes to work at the same place, everyone goes shopping at the same place, etc. At some point the main character notices a window and is unable to see what's "outside". After various days of walking by that window with the rest of the people at the same time, the main character takes a peek out of that window and goes through it and ends up "outside" where there's a beautiful sight of a sky full of stars. Then he looks back at the window and sees how all the people inside goes from one side to another at the same time and at the same rhythm. The short ends here. The whole short had no dialog, only sound effects when needed, like people walking, working and being at home. I remember being a kid and thinking that some of the shorts that aired in that segment (LOCOTOMIA) used to be so long but I guess that being a kid enjoying some TV made me think they were long. I remember this short in particular because it meant so much to me at a young age to get a message like that: DARE TO GO OUTSIDE. It defined my way of thinking from there to the present day and I will carry that message with me for the rest of my life.

Here's my personal nickelodeon related childhood trauma story, that's kinda like the zombie bumpers, but a tad different So, I can't remember what year exactly, but when I was a kiddo (like, 7-11) kids online mmos were the shit. Think club penguin, petpet park type stuff. Nick hopped on this trend and added their own mmo game-thing to their website, where you could dress up your avatar, watch big time rush videos in an in game theater, or try and talk with others, but most importantly there were shitty laggy minigames you could play. The one that I remember was (what I assume was) the one made for Halloween, which featured monster versions of nicktoons characters attacking a fenced area. Your avatar would don a sash of garlic and other cartoony monster hunter stuff and have to fight off the nicktoons characters trying to kill you. Instead of them all being zombies, I remember them being different kinds of monsters; some zombies, some mummies, some werewolves-- but what REALLY got to me as a kid was the "boss" of the game, "SpongeBlob", a giant blob-monster SpongeBob that would writhe around and occasionally go transparent so you could see all the other spongebob characters inside of him. Needless to say this freaked the shit out of me as a kid and cemented my fear of Blob-type monsters that I still have to this day. I think I even remember having a nightmare about the peanuts gang getting eaten by a blob. Since that game and everything in it has definitely been lost to time, this game might honestly be lost media lol. But there's probably footage of it somewhere, I haven't bothered to check Tldr: shitty nickelodeon mmo made me have nightmares over SpongeBlob

I remember the MMO being called Nicktropolis. It had different worlds you could go to based on different Nick cartoons. I remember SpongeBob, Jimmy Neutron, and Danny Phantom having worlds, and going to the SpongeBob world would turn your avatar into a fish. I also remember the theater and the janky chat filter. I specifically remember another player asking if I was a guy or a girl, and when I said I was a guy, she kept asking me to be her boyfriend and it creeped me out so I logged off for several months lol. I don't remember this specific minigame, or any minigames at all, but I remember that minigames were present.

Saki Sanobashi can be explained as a vague recollection of The Curse of Kazuo Umezu (obscure, but extremely easy to find nowadays) or just various elements from obscure titles (the aforementioned OVA included) to trick the readers into a search. The latter is extremely probable considering that the original post appeared on 4chan which historically has a demographic full of peple with a vast knowledge of obscure anime, a penchant for trolling and particular hate for Reddit culture. In other words it's a prank against the obsessive search which are very common on Reddit.

Yeah, the throat scratching bit is definitely from higurashi, which is basically an entire series about young girls dying in horrible ways. about saki sanobashi: i don't personally think it exists, but i disagree that the content sounds unbelievable. if anything, i think part of the reason it got as much traction as it did it's because it sounds like exactly what you would expect from gore anime. i'm more surprised that it ISN'T real because i would imagine gore creators would be the first to think of that and yet, everything surrounding the story makes me think it's fake. i'd love to be proved wrong, because the idea of an anime with no music about a descent into madness sounds like an interesting concept, but i doubt anything will come of it.

The Mean Bean Machine one reminds me of something that happened when I was playing Street Fighter II Special Championship Edition for the Sega Genesis. I triggered some kind of error that caused the game to go to a screen that looks like MSDOS or a Commodore 64. It had text that read something about emulation and it had a long series of what looks like assembly language code. I could change the numbers rapidly using the joystick I was using. The scary part is that it said, "Emulation" and I was playing this on an actual Genesis. On an unrelated note, I also remember seeing these ads or psas on Nick back around 2000 to 2003 that were in black and white and it involved some girl playing a kazoo while hoolahooping. I remember seeing it quite a bit and I have never been able to find it. I have no idea what it was for. All I know is that it aired on Nick in the early 2000's.

the mean bean machine one doesn't surprise me at all.. i only had the genesis version. But, I wonder, if the check connection screen is just a generic bug flagger, kind of like how in sonic 3d blast you can get a special stage select if your game fucks up.. (or someone trips over your console or etc) so i wonder if just having a bad dump of the rom or a bad cart would produce the effect if tested enough? I had sonic triple trouble which was my only game that consistently gave me issues working.. and it would have errors but they were usually just black screen errors. once i got glitchy graphics in the intro though but i wasn't able to progress from the intro without it crashing/black screening something to try anyway!

Not sure if this is Lost Media, but I’ll go ahead anyway since I can’t find the name for it: I remember watching a CBBC show back in the Late-00/ very early 2010’s about a boy who used his imagination to go on extravagant adventures, but would always be “transported” back to the real world where the room he was in was always in a mess. The boy was always accompanied by two friends, one being another boy his age and the other a girl, who always followed the main kid character both in the real world and in his imagination somehow. The animation, art-style and character designs were near-identical to Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, so it was most likely made in Adobe Flash like a good number of shows around its time (Almost Naked Animals and Johnny Test being infamous examples).
