I have a huge Halloween junk journal that I started in 1971 with my husband, and me in scary mask. It continued with us, then our children over the years, then our granddaughters, followed by grandsons. Now I'm doing pages featuring great grandchildren and there are only 4 pages left to fill. The book is huge, colorful, fun and quite a conversation book. I would recommend making one and filling it over the years.

I love this so much! ❤ I love girly and feminine, but I also love dark and grungy. It's so fun to explore the different parts of ourselves, and journals and art are such a great way to do it. Personally, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! My town in Oregon, US, has had a Halloween children's parade for decades, and plenty activities for the adults at night. ❤ At 47, I still dress up every year and decorate my house for the month of October 😂❤

Instead of seeing it is a Halloween journal, my impression is more of a haunted house. Portraits of past people who lived there and their skeletons are still hanging around. BTW Halloween is my birthday! I’ve had a few adult themed parties over the years that were fun. I so enjoyed creating fabulous custom costumes for my daughter since she could walk until her college days. Thanks for all your videos!

Thank you for doing this this journal. Yes, I'm American. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I'm not into the bloody, gory horror movie stuff. I love the happy, playful side. Your journal hits just the right spot. The origins of Halloween have been documented by various factions, and depending on who is doing the telling, you get a different story. Basically, it has its beginnings with ancient Celtic practices. But beyond that, as a child, I loved that on that one day I could be anything I wanted for one day. Reality gets suspended for make believe. The candy didn't hurt either. Every year , I made elaborate displays. Mainly harvest theamed with Halloween layered over top. And just to go over the top, I carved up to 40 pumpkins in the week leading up to the day of. Made 100 treat bags to hand out, and made costumes for my nieces, and nephews. With the onset of old age, arthritis and moving into the country I no longer have that joy. I've been wanting to journal on it, but was unsure where to start. I discovered you about a month ago. I've been binge watching all your tutorials ever since. When I saw this one my heart blossomed with joy. You've given me a starting point. So thank you for what you do, and thank you to the lovely lady who sent you the happy mail. Ok. I'll get off my soap box now. Lol ❤😊

Brevity = Perfect!!!!, Christmas? YES!!! Dried, dark rose = crème de la crème! History (per Magis Center): The Celtic festival known as Samhain (pronounced sow-in) was a celebration of the end of harvest and preparation for the coming winter-a time usually associated with death. It was celebrated on the eve of the Celtic New Year (November 1st). It was on this night that they believed that the boundary-between the deceased and living-would become blurred and the dead would walk among the living for that single night. Keep that journal and enjoy what you created. Too often I give away my creations and forget why I have so much STUFF cluttering my craft space. Good for the SOUL to keep reminders of your awe inspiring creativity. Cheers and many goulish delights!

If I had such a journal, I would not use it as personnal dairy. I would use it as a collector of spooky, dark, creepy stories that I could invent and write in that gorgeous journal. Some of these stories will be short, others longer, depending on the page or journaling spot size. And I could find inspiration for the little story with the material used to decorate the page. And if the hand writing is weird because of the thickness of the pages, it would add to the craziness of the process. Oh what a fun use of such a journal I could be ! 🥰 🤭 Thanks, Natasa, for sharing your talent ✨

oh dear I love this so much cause I am a Halloween person before i knew what halloween was. Meaning that in Greece we have a period of time around a month[feb to march] when people dress up in costumes and do parties and festivals. So from the first time i was able to decide for myself which costume i would choose it would always be witches, and Adams Family and have ghost themed party on my birthday which is during that period. In Greece we dont really do Halloween but we have this. So i cannot really describe how much I enjoyed this video. I’ve checked the past 3 days waiting for your next video, and this did not disappoint! I love it. And I love Halloween, it’s just a fun event. Halloween originated as a celebration of the Celtic festival Samhain, which marked the beginning of winter and the new year. Halloween has been around for more than a thousand years. Originally a religious observance, it became increasingly secular over the centuries until its religious trappings all but disappeared. Today Halloween is considered a holiday for dress-up and fun, especially for children.

I live in the US and Halloween is my favorite holiday. As a kid it was so much better than it is now. I lived just outside town, the houses were about an acre apart and it was the one night we could go out as a group and go trick or treating without adults. I grew up in Nevada in Carson City (the capital), so Halloween was a state holiday (the day Nevada became a state), we always had it off, in Carson, they let us trick or treat the night before, because of all the adults that were out celebrating on the night of, so we could stay out late and always had the day off so we could sleep in. On Halloween (Nevada Day) there was a parade. It was great. And for the more adventurous of us, and who had accommodating parents, we could trick or treat the night before in Carson then drive to Reno and trick or treat the next night! I am working on a Halloween journal now, I intend to decorate a few pages every year, so by the time I get to the end, it will probably look really weird as I expect the "style" might change from year to year. But it should be a good indicator of changing times.

Hi Natasa, the Halloween of my youth was a fun, exciting time. We lived in a small village where everyone knew everyone. We would dress up in fun costumes that our Mom would make and with a pillow case we would visit all our friends and neighbors, receiving treats like homemade taffy, fudge and chocolate covered puff wheat squares. On cold nights we would be invited in for hot chocolate and fresh baked cookies. The owner of the tiny grocery store would always include an onion or potato for our Moms delicious hearty soup.memories like that can’t be beat.

I live in the US, and Halloween is a big thing here, although there are those that are trying to minimize it. It makes me sad because it is such a fun time for kids. I never really think about what people call the dark side of Halloween. Kids don’t think that way. It is just a fun time where they get to dress up in cute costumes and get a bunch of candy! My kids always loved it. Thank you so much for sharing your great talent with us! I took so many notes and hope to make something similar to this one day.

Great journal. I don't think it's that dark compared to things that I've seen for other journals and other art crafting for Halloween. I love Halloween, but I am not as active doing things as I was when I was a kid or when I was younger. I don't really think it originated in America. I think it's something that came from Europe historically but has changed into what it is today. At any rate love what you've done. I love all the sewing and details of your journal. Love the closing. Love all the elements used, stamping, stenciling, things that attach and unattach, pull out, jewelry, fabric, tea died paper Wow! Your work is really phenomenal with a lot of attention to detail. It doesn't look just thrown together and messy. It looks really well thought out and everything goes well together. Thanks for sharing this video.

…and there’s the magic…the list…journaling about journals! I feel better knowing that you make lists, I thought you pulled it out of your head. Lists are great!

What a fun project! Youʻve sparked ideas on how to use all those snarky sayings and odd pictures that Iʻve collected but could never use in a ʻstandardʻ journal. Thank you. .

I love this! Halloween is my favorite holiday and I certainly celebrate it more of a season…the fall spooky season. So maybe this is more of a ‘Spooky Journal’

I'm not a halloween fan, but this is a wonderful journal. I don't blame you for wanting to keep it for yourself. I always find so much inspiriation when I watch your videos. You are a true artist. Peggy in Arizona, US.
