In fairness, that's actually pretty common for serious voice actors, especially if they don't really have context for the line. The fact Luke was willing to do multiple takes simply shows he's a serious voice actor who cares about the quality of his work, even for something relatively silly like this. He didn't have to go this hard, but we're all glad he did.

Well, Luke was payed to do this, and usually VAs are payed to read a short monologue. Reading just one short sentence would look greedy and not nice. So we worked his money 100%.

Bit of advice. Don't rush yourself. Take your time and enjoy the story. It may feel slow at first but trust me, there is so much set up that pays off later that it is well worth it. Final Fantasy XIV follows the Chekov's Gun approach to story telling. If the story highlights it, it will be important at some point, even if it seems useless initially.

This was a cute bit in the Melee DPS Guide and when I saw there was a full song I knew it was going to be good. It could have been lazy, but ended up being anything but. Not only did the lyrics fit the topic, they also fit the original song, pairing with the original's lyrics and cadence. Truly on par with a Weird Al parody. And getting Zenos' voice actor was just... *chef's kiss*. Also, full props to Luke for agreeing to be part of this!

You can play that first and if you realize you like the game you can buy the complete edition 👍 Edit: Also FFXIV's official KZbin page just posted a series of guides for new adventurers just yesterday. The fact alone that this game has an entire scythe based class has seriously tempted me to buy it, I was already considering buying it beforehand as FFXIV is just a good RPG. When I have a proper source of income to sustain the unfortunate but understandable subscription service aspect of it, I am probably going to buy it. *I dont think anybody truly understands how much of a sucker I am for games with well designed scythe weapons* *Update:* I have bought XIV, I do not have a sub YET but I have bought it.
