There are some subtleties in this movie that most people miss. The scene where the girl calls out to Micheal in the car and he slams on the brakes foreshadows the way he will kill them. He kills the one girl in the car, and then he shows a "sense of humor" by donning the ghost costume when he kills the other. It shows that he's not a mindless killer- but intentional and methodical- and full of pure rage and evil.

Hilarious comments as usual sir. Keep in mind while you laughing at all these now over used tropes that none of us had ever seen anything like this when it came out. This is basically the creator of every horror trope out there. I was 11 when I saw this for the first time. Not a good idea. 😰

Great reaction! This movie will always be a classic. There is very minimal blood or gore, and the iconic soundtrack makes it very suspenseful! This was the first movie to have the villain not die and keep coming back , to be copied later by Jason and Freddy . In the novelization they explain that Micheal is a dark Celtic demon that lives inside of him, and therefore he can never be killed. Saw this in '78 when I was 8. Another film my brother and I affectionately call "family night at the movies essentially films of any genre/rating because I guess my parents didn't belive in baby sitters. Two scenrs I found creepiest was Michael as a ghost with glasses and the dead girl on the bed with Judith Meyers head stone.

Here's the thing about the Halloween movie franchise. John Carpenter planned anthology kinda movie series. Whare every one would be a different story of something. Happening on Halloween Michael Myers was supposed to be a one time story. Then the next Halloween would be about something different. But the movie studio got to involved an wanted the 2nd Halloween to be about Michael Myers. So John Carpenter reluctantly agreed if he could do whatever he wanted. In the 3rd movie the movie studio agreed to this term . That's why Halloween 3 season of the witch has nothing to do with. Michael Myers because John Carpenter tried to do his original plan. To make Halloween into a anthology movie series. But it didn't do well in movie theaters because at this point. People were expecting Michael Myers to be to the antagonist. So the movie studio said that they want to bring back Michael Myers. So John Carpenter replied im don with the Halloween franchise. Then walked away an was fine with the studio making as many Halloween movies as they . Wanted as long as they gave him his lority checks for the movies. John Carpenter only came back to it for Halloween 2018 an the following two. To get Michael Myers back on track with what he . Was originally meant to be because John Carpenter didn't like what they did. With the character of Michael Myers an what they turned him into. In all sequels after he walked away from the Halloween franchise.

I wanted to point out that a lot of reactors can't understand way all of these peeps keep their doors and windows open, and why they are not street smart. Yes it was a different time in the 70s, but believe it or not, we still have towns like this today. When you live in a small town with tiny police force because the crime rate is little to non existent, you get people that don't ever develop street smarts. I moved from a city that you best believe you needed to be street smart to survive and all of your shhh needed to be locked or secured, to a small town like this where you find you are the only one locking your doors and windows. Real talk.

The second film is a direct sequel, suppose to be the same night. 3 was suppose to take the franchise into an anthology series with every film being a different story for each film taking place around Halloween, People got mad expecting Michael so he was brought back for the remaining 5 films before they rebooted.
