Passangers! Ive heard a great, chilling idea on how to make it horror: Aurora is (justifibly) horrified that Jim is the one who woke her up and when they are on their trip to space she pushes him out and kills him. But unable to get back into hibernation years later she's sitting next to someone else in a pod faced with the same terrible choice that Jim had.

But then later, realizes she can't save the ship without his help. Or, the food machine soon stops working! There are several ways you could turn this one into a horror movie.

This is such a fun concept! I think that The Labyrinth would be a cool concept for a horror movie. You could keep the fantasy feel, but you could have some traps in the maze, and the creatures are dangerous instead of friendly, to give you some suspense as she's going round, and there could be more of a sinister "boss fight" against Jareth at the end. Mary Poppins could be a fun one as well, but instead of taking the kids on whimsical adventures of their imagination, she takes them into their nightmares, and maybe she only leaves once they have faced their fears. 😨

Wow! Yet another awesome video! I have two possible, remake into horror movie suggestions, those being ‘stranger than fiction’ and ‘the curious case of Benjamin button’, I feel like both could transform into wickedly cool psychological horror movies, like maybe ‘Benjamin button’ could actually be psychedelic thriller movie about an old man who is suffering from the early stages of on set dementia and is additionally struggling with the concept of old age, and is starting to relive moments from his youth…however they start to become increasingly twisted and bizarre , and ‘Stranger than fiction’ could be a great horror movie in the vein of say Jacob’s ladder, because the author who is orchestrating Harolds life could be a horror novelist with writers block who unintentionally kills Harold and his family with every possible scripted death/outcome for his character, so Harold keeps dying and coming back until he decides to seek revenge/find the person who is doing this to him (idk lol).

Okay, I've been thinking. My ideas... Firstly, Summer's secret - I'm thinking it's an American Mary type situation, where she's "practising surgery" in her basement. But instead, it's taxidermy. It could start out small, and have JGL walking through, inspecting little animals. They get bigger, and more disturbing as he moves on. Finally, there is a half-done human. 😉 Okay, other films: 1) Rapunzel: I'm thinking she is tortured in the tower her whole life. Eventually she kills herself (probably jumps). She is now an urban legend. Think Candyman with The Grudge (OG Japanese version!). So, the golden hair might be black for this one! 2) The Secret Garden: This one is almost a story of Munchausen by proxy anyway. So, Mary discovers that they are poisoning Colin. She either finds the garden full of poisonous plants, or together they make it. Colin and Mary use the secret garden to create a poison, and kill all of Colin's carers and servents. There needs to be a twist or two, but I don't know what it is yet! 3)Beauty and the Beast: It's a cheap shot, but this could be a nice, gory creature feature! Keep Belle falling in love with the considerate, sweet man inside the best, but she is unaware that at night he needs to feed. He is wreaking havok in the little French village. So I guess it could become an interesting moral dilemma. He is a good person, but as part of the spell, he is compelled to eat humans. Is he still good? Does he now... Enjoy it? Okay, I'm done! Just a thought though, would you be keen to do a part two with people's ideas? I'd be super interested in hearing other people's picks for this, and any additions or tweaks you would make to the ideas if it were your movie!
@spookyastronauts3 жыл бұрын
omg THE SECRET GARDEN! that always felt so dark to me as a kid!

2: The twist: I LOVE Martha (Mary's servant who helps her become a more likeable person), so: She knew about the poisoning, but was afraid to lose her job if she tried to stop it, or tell someone who would. But she figures out what the kids are doing, and manages to fake her own death. Then... does she stop the kids? Does she try to help them (and maybe guide them as to whom they should and shouldn't kill). Hell, does she kill the kids?

I paused the beginning of this to write this lol. Some comedies that would work well as horror are The Cable Guy, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (A film about drugs and the craziness of being constantly high would work very well. Enter the Viod kinda is this already but I digress). The Mask, almost any Buddie Comedy would work if handled right. Edit: For the idea of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas I thought it would be interesting if 2 friends that follow Hunter S. Thompson like it's a religion. They would get an idea that in order for them to be true to Hunter they twistedly decide to copy his drug fueled bender. In the process they can't handle how f***ed up they get. Imagine the possibilities. This is kinda like Spooky's idea lol. Also the movie The Voices even though it's already a comical horror if you film it from the "Victims" aspect it becomes a straight up horror film.

Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies and I can actually imagine a remake that has Clive Barker levels of horniness (the original had serious subtext, people) and Guillermo del Toro like monsters. To add to the Clive Barker influence it could also be a queer self-realization story with a lesbian version of Jareth.

I would like to see Elf as a horror movie. Not sure how it would work, but I'd like to see someone try it. And I just realized that (500) Days of Summer and Audition basically have the same plot!

Oh, hey - I was also thinking about 'Elf' - what if Buddy, a human who was adopted by elves, was adopted by the elves of the darker lore (see: 'The Hole in the Ground', or refer to Terry Pratchett's Discworld books about "The Shining Ones"/"The Lord's and Ladies"/"The Star People"...etc.). What if they WON'T let Buddy break away from the elves...or Buddy's time with the elves is different from when he returns to the humans - one day in elfland equals ten years in human land. Buddy finds everyone and everything he recognizes gone! Maybe it's an apocalyptic world, or one that has reverted to a bronze age where elves can return to wreak havok on humanity (they hate iron). ?

@@shamblepants1450 That's interesting. And Terry Pratchett was great.

@@anthonywheeler2082 I only discovered Terry Pratchett within the past few years, but I have now made his Discworld series a part of my daily diet. It's had a great effect on my general outlook, and a much needed healthy dose of humour in these gloomy times.

ET, Cast Away, and Back to the Future could make for some interesting horror concepts.

The Hunger Games but turned into a fully brutal rated R Battle Royale horror movie. Coco could easily be turned into a movie about a child trying to escape from purgatory. Jumanji and Zathura can both be turned into cursed board game horror films. Matilda can be turned into a horror fantasy about a murderous boarding school.

I think jurassic Park should be remade into a james bond type thing. Dr Hammond is basically a classic James bond baddie.

I´ve never heard of Drop dead Fred, but it sounds completely horrifying. Is that Rik Mayall from The young ones? I have to rewatch that show. As a swede, I obviously think Pippi Longstocking should be made into a horror movie. Firestarter meets Falling down meets The bad seed, maybe? Thanks again, Emma!

Twilight. Made legitimately scary. With gory bloody vampire lore. Maybe adopting Vampire: the Masquerade lore.

I love this idea. Forks always seemed like the perfect setting for the creepy supernatural stuff to happen, so turning it into horror would be really interesting.

The internet has shown that 'Mary Poppins' isn't too far removed from a horror film. 'Harvey' could make for a good horror-comedy (psychotic alcoholic goes on killing spree, urged on by a giant rabbit). ... but how about 'The Room'? The obvious approach is, again, as a horror-comedy but a full-blown stalker-thriller would be fascinating to see (but all done well with a good script and acting). Imagine being able to compare that with the original.
