At 2:42 it looks like there is not the recommended 10 unmentioned loops before the tension is added to the rest of the line. Hope that it was not done like that as the pin will not retain its strength and can sheer off.

Thanks, Bill! Definitely should've mentioned that. I did in fact wrap the drum 5 times before starting. Great advice, will add to the description 👍🏻

Nice, I just picked up my gen3 X2O today, bumper coming Monday and I didn’t even realize I needed to spool it initially until today. Can’t wait to get it installed and drive my wife’s car into a ditch to pull it out

Doesnt the winch have a label instructing to spool over the top of the drum, rather than under it?

Just spooled the way the instructions said to. It does wind-up the correct way with the remote 👍

wait so that black protective sleeve goes on the first part of the rope that gets spooled?

No it goes at the end. Helps protect cable from breaks and sun. At one point I had to move it back as it was at the beginning of spool. Great catch and thank you for sharing!

Do you have to do this after every use of the winch? Or just the initial time you spool it?

Initial spool and if it's getting lots of use, couple times a year 👌🏻
