I feel like everyone overlooks how effective batoning wood is with carving axes. To me they are actually one of the most effective at splitting with a baton. Most carving axes a super sharp, good bite with good weight and thickness making splitting with them is easy.

Beautiful axe! I’ve got a small hatchet, but am thinking of finding something a little bigger… Is there a name for your style of axe?

Hi there! This is an axe specifically designed for carving from Gransfors Bruk called a "Large Swedish Carver". It weighs slightly under 1kg, which is relatively heavy for a carving axe. Thank you so much for being here!
