That cross lock snap is the number one too I’ve learned from your channel Cal. I think it’s essential, especially if a guy likes to watch your videos and then go out and try out all the lures from said videos. I probably change my lure 4-1 compared to my fishing buddies when we’re out and this gets me back in the water fishing fast! And it is an awesome feeling when you swap out the lure on a slow day, tie on a new lure and start picking up fish. Congrats on 3 million views Cal!

Thanks for your videos, I'm anxious to try some of your methods this trout season in my canoe [sq. stern small trolling motor].

Hey Cal what's wrong with using a barrel swivel to a snap swivel to.change lures out?
@troypattillo41004 жыл бұрын
Channing Venegas, The additional weight though seemingly not much will impede the action of smaller spoons
@channingvenegas99844 жыл бұрын
@@troypattillo4100 I use the smallest snap swivels and barrel swivels you can buy and I've caught numerous fish with that setup. Big fish too. The weight is very minimal. Any other reasons why?

Ha. Habit too..... Go with your confidence..... I’m just trying to make the snap a inconspicuous as possible...
@channingvenegas99844 жыл бұрын
@@FHSTackle I had that thought a while back as well so then I started matching my chrome or silver lures to my silver snap swivels and my gold or copper lures to my gold snap swivels. I just started tying my snap swivels to a loop knot though. Thanks for that video too btw!!👍

Thanks again Cal! What is the speed range using the 6in blade with a trigger soon?
@FHSTackle4 жыл бұрын
About 2 to 2.2 or so with the regular Trigger... 1.5 to 1.8 with the little guy

Hey Cal, great tutorial! Would you run the longer leaders from a dodger if trolling a dick nite?
@FHSTackle4 жыл бұрын
Sure! Yes!! Create some space!
@brianstephens31624 жыл бұрын
One more tidbit on why you want a heavier leader in between the dodger and spoon/fly- if fish jumps and does a good head shake, the snap created between the fish and heavy dodger can snap a lighter line, especially a short 18" one (ask me how I know...)
