Just feels a bit off since the audience experiences no spatial image from hearing a drum kit, the perspective blurs it, it sounds like “the drums are over there” like Britt mentions. The drummer does experience a stereo image though, and panning as such immerses the listener. Immersion vs witnessing. Hearing audience perspective panning has an uncanny feeling to me, probably left handed folks might feel otherwise haha. My two cents anyway. I figure I can rant about arbitrary trivialities in the Pensado’s Place comments because that’s what us mixers do! :) I’d definitely be interested in your philosophy on the subject. Peace and love ✌️
