Mama used to tell me a story from when she was expecting me of a Train Jumper coming to our door asking for work as he was hungry. She gave him a meal, strawberry shortcake & packed him sandwiches. Mama thought that experience gave me my love of watching the trains. I was born in the early 60s and lived close to the tracks. I remember watching train jumpers sitting in open doors of the train cars. They would sometimes wave at me. I still live close to the track. 55 of my 58 years have been near the track. The world is so different now. Abby, your videos take me back and I love every beat of your spoons.
@mikeatwood62324 жыл бұрын
I almost have car wrecks from staring at trains. I also love railroad tracks, even ones that have been taken up and have left only a dirt trail. My my mothers Greek descended, 6'6 father worked for the railroad around east St. Louia until he died at the young age of 54 of a brain tumor. Never knew him but I know trains and even the tracks call out to me. I completely believe you and understand your fascination with trains. I also believe certain events can effect children even while they are still in the womb. God bless.

Idk if people quite realize the talent that goes into this. Not just talent but this is the backbone of deep rooted southern music! Watching her has taken me back to being small and listening to my granddaddy, uncles, grandma, and others sit around and play, fiddle, guitar, buckets, spoons and whatever would make music. This come from backwoods poor who couldn't afford drums or instruments but had the raw talent to make anything sound good!! Oh those deep roots we have. I love that this is being passed on. Hope it never dies. Luv ya Abby, from the hollars of Kentucky!
