I am fascinated by spoon players. In th mid- late 70 I dated a spoon player and they were unheard of back them. He was quite good and loved to play with our old-time music/ bluegrass friends in Union Grove NC. I love whast you do Abby! Miss you being in NC however.

Love to hear you playing the spoons. My mom or dad taught me and my sister how to play the spoons, but not the part where you slide them down your fingers. That was cool. Love listening to you. My first set of spoons was one made from rosewood and one metal one. Handles on the wooden ones were to wide to play together so I improvised. Recently I bought some all metal ones that are sautered together. I find that I'm able to learn new beats quicker with these new ones. However, some of the beats you do can't be done or seem more difficult on these new ones. I'm wanting an all wooden set next, do you recommend getting 2 separate ones rather than ones that are connected? Just curious what your take was on this....
