Sometimes when the AI is going all out attack, the movement of my players is suddenly slow. Turning is slow, passing feels slow, and holding the sprint button doesn't help either. Do you have any tips on that? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it excludes a bunch of controls on it's online user guide as well. I don't know what the logic is behind that, but it means certain players who know some of those controls have a massive advantage over other players who don't.

This has changed things for me! It turns out attack is the best form of defence against Legend difficulty. Previously I'd only been able to get as far as the semis in the Euros, but now after watching this video I've won two tournaments in a row. Cheers Spoony!

Same here man. Pes is becoming really big here where I stay, Cape Town. There are two Pes gaming clubs that started which they hosted many tournaments last year and year before. Until covid. But the 1 is still doing many Online tourneys which I dont take part in cause my wifi to slow. There is now fiber in my area so there's that lol

I've been doing this +1 attack for quite some time but people complain about players getting drained quickly. The tip is to not run like headless chickens all over the field. At times I've destroyed big teams by a high press and picking their players and cutting down passing lanes. This +1 gives you better press than Gegenpress itself. Focus, tactics, discipline is the key. Spoony has covered all aspects of the beautiful game in all of his videos. He's a genius at the game. I hope you have many subs going into the future

In addition you can also push up your defensive line to squeeze the space. I.e hold down d pad to move defence forward.

This should be one of the first things you discover about competitive online PES after getting destroyed and experimenting. Just like FIFA attacking mentality,pressure and agression just make too much of a difference in how your team plays. You'll comepete better, but there will still be 'moments' when if it's your turn Konami will take the game out of your hands.

I started playing soccer just about a few years back and I must say I feel like giving it up for my adventure games. I can't smoothly turn when receiving a ball. Dribbling sucks for me. My defending is a bit lame. How do I play against offline opponents to win? They are really good but I do win them sometimes. I almost always win ball possession after the game but goal scoring is my problem. Any help spoony?

Opponents drive pass me very easily. I was told to hold down the PS(A) button and or PS(X) button yet they drive not dribble but sprint pass me most of the time

Nice tip.. Unfortunately the AI are lacking in switching the attack/defense profile constantly in a game. From pes2018 since 2021, AI doesn't want to change attack/defense profile accordingly. This is a reason, among others, that almost every game, depending from the chosen, by the AI, attack/defense profile, seems the same. If AI starts with "attack" or "defense" profile, its stays that way almost all way to the end, with very little adjustments. In contrary in pes2017, AI will change attack/defense profile many times over a 90min period, regardless of scoring or conceiving a goal.

No Shjt, The AI in PES 2018 drive me crazy in the late 10 mins when I score first. They ( West Brom with every difficulty levels ) even know how to Genepressing.

This is a good guide, but in online play it's not always the issue. Sometimes the momentum just swings so hard you are even unable to switch players, and in my experience, unable to super cancel some defensive animations. You will notice it often when players turn for the precision shot, you have blocked this time and time again, but all of a sudden you cannot switch to him even using the R stick, or you are unable to move him whatsoever. Whether it's script, input lag, server lag etc. I don't know, but it happens way more often in this game than 2020.

Attacking makes them tired too fast. And what is very annoing, all of them are running back like crazy after loosing the ball before the opponent's goal, and there is no way to force them to stay and apply some pressure on the defenders and the goalkeeper. Yes, I'm still playing PES21 in 2023 😁

Don't change anything unless like I stated, if it's still not working. If you can't close the gap on their players with pressure...then you need to adjust and if offensively you lack much up top then again, change using strategy. If none of the strategy work then you need to adjust formation based on what you're seeing.

I've actually been playing and defending better (online) since switching to blimp view I've gave up with the dynamic wide view because I can't read the game as view is limited to 2 or 3 player's close to you I felt like my options were very limited when in possession and couldn't get a feel of the game but now I see everything and use players I can't see on dynamic wide view

Yeah, I'm the same mate. I prefer stadium cam 0,0,10 for that very reason but for watching back on a phone it's too small...so live broadcast works nicely for viewers on smaller devices.

You have to set your difficulty to Legend before making the tutorials, because everyone can beat the opponents even without tactical strategy if they don't set the diff to Legend.

Hi Spoony, thanks for all your great tips, I'm am sorry I need to deviate from this topic to an issue that has been bothering me , Whenever I use the secondary press that is the call for team mates to press the opponent with the ball i find that instead of just my player with the empty triangle to approach the opponent with the ball my player with the full triangle also joins , I always thought that my player with the full triangle should not move unless I press x instead he joins and leaves me open to through passes, please note that at this point i am pressing my secondary press button which is the square button and not the x button which is my primary press button, thanks for your anticipated prompt response. If anyone else understands what's going on here kindly respond as well thanks

Still behaves the same way, need to make those adjustments and actually look and see what's going on. There's no magic formula. They're probably using counter target possibly.

Yo Spoony Another good video dude. I never really thought about this but thanks for bringing it my attention. The distance between opposition players and mine when we set the attacking or defending bars. I played a friendly tourney with some buddies and I versed one in the group where I totally dominated the match, I won 5-1. Then we both made it to the finals and he decided to play 5 at the back, a 5-3-2 formation with Juve. And he played defensive all gaming hitting me on the counter. I lost 2-1 and only at the very end of the game did I try All out attack. If I did that earlier made the outcome would have been different. Lol sorry for the long mesg if you do read this. I may not comment much on your videos lately but I do still follow and or watch them. Keep up the good work

Well, adjusting the attack/defence strategy will push or pull your players closer to your opponents which is what you want.

And you can always select the players to push forward in the all out attack mode, not just the center backs

In this case, I needed the defender as I was playing 451. Why would I need an attacker when the attacker is always forward. As stated, there's no point having 3 players to deal with one striker.

@@bengszy8124 Their striker was playing DM almost when I was attacking. Found that my 451 with all out attack (with +1 def) works nicely against 532/541 teams. Just don't use it against other formations.
