@@jeremyminns5627 I wasn't around in the true CB days but I believe it isn't quite the same. We do have AM and SSB legal now so that's a plus. Plenty of long distance talking opportunities and a few locals around depending where you are. Thanks Ant

They certainly were! Wish it was that good all the time. Hardest part is finding the time to head out and catch the conditions also. A fair few trips yield little contacts unfortunately - part of the challenge and fun I suppose. Good little rig the Mckinley 👍Thanks for watching and subscribing

@@26KE185 Haha just radio power (12-20 watts FM/SSB) into a 1/2 wave T2LT on a 9m pole. It's all about the conditions 👍

@@26DR302 ok so an 18 foot antenna perhaps 9 metres up...ye you re doing well...so hows the propagation on uk 40 fm at the minute? Is there a lift every day or maybe at certain times?

@@26KE185 Thanks 👍 it hasn't been great the past few weeks unfortunately but when there has been conditions it tends to start around early evening and has on occasion continued into the night 10/11pm at times 😳 crazy. I like the midband personally. Lots of contacts into Germany, central Europe, Italy and further in the summer months. I am starting to hear the USA on occasion again. Not long now until they will be booming back in. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Hoping to get some more videos up soon when I get the time.

@@26DR302 i was around in the 80s when it would be s9 of people talking on uk fm...cornwall n channel islands n sometimes france...i had dv 27 indoors and a 9 foot dipole half in bedroom n half in loft...i did uk and channel islands as if they were next door...struggled with france...then when i moved onto a concorde 3 it would be dx all day on mids...n sometimes not a peep on ukfm...wish those times would come back...but hey its lovely seeing your dx...thankyou...kev - sunderland
