Hey bro, I had a mono tub fully colonnaded and I noticed a couple little spots of contamination so I took it outside by this little bush and I dumped it out and I put a little swimming pool over the top of it and wettede the ground down around it and put a little weight on top of it and came back like a week later and it was loaded with mushrooms I think the pool on top kept the humidity and it's starting to get cooler at nights but it was an unexpected surprise.❤, I also kept the hose misting on the ground lightly to keep the ground wet.

Got my 1st bag almost ready. It was moving slow. It needs to be said in Colorado because it's dry, mine worked best in a dark closet w warm room outside the door, it creates more moisture and the mycellium grew way faster. Good luck

Hey man, I've never grown before so take my words with a grain of salt. I was looking into those tubs that you use and I noticed a decent number of negative reviews mentioning that the fruiting lid doesn't actually seal to the bottom which essentially makes all the air exchange skip the air filters. Could be a reason why you keep getting contaminations with those tubs. I would recommend making your own monotub, or maybe sealing the edge with tape/some sort of homemade gasket just to make sure. Either way, keep up the great work!

If there is contamination in the spawn bag will you only know in the spawn bag or will contamination only show in the fruiting process? In other words if you dont see any contamination during inoculation, does that mean the contamination happened in the fruiting process or could it have happened during inoculation but you only saw the green contamination once mixed with substrate and trying to fruit? I want to know if i at least got through the first step without contamination

Take a cap that has its veil opened, lay down sheet of tin foil, place cap on foil veil down, I like to put a wine glass over.. the spores will drop, ad into agar agar... or u can just clone by taking a scalpel and harvesting a peice to clone

At 3:38 you're pouring out the grain spawn in the bag, and right in the middle at the top there is a black looking clump of grain. Was this indication of contamination or that's normal? There are a few additional dark looking clumps once you start breaking it up even finer into the bin right before you pour out the substrate. I'm not a mycologist by any means, I'm just here trying to learn more, but it's something that caught my eye's attention so I had to ask.

It's been awhile since I grew any, but when you first opened your bins, they looked to have a bit too much moisture, that will cause contamination, even when it's ready to fruit, too much moisture can destroy your crop.

You said no one could answer this question but I think I came up with a theory. You asked how come you have to be so sterile when growing mushrooms in a controlled environment. Perhaps it’s because you are trying to eliminate any possible contamination and increase the likelihood of a harvest. Maybe in nature they are more resilient when they actually make it through the colonization phase?? I don’t know? Love your videos.
