I this harness is AMAZING!!! I have a vigorous Australian Cattle Dog and he has pulled me off my feet before. After getting used to the harness (about 2 walks) he learned that he "can't" pull on it - so now he doesn't even try. Several times I've forgotten the harness at home and I had to use the ring on his collar. He immediately went back to pulling! We don't forget the harness at home any more.

My small dog had used the sporn harness halter but my strong puller,a large dog, used the head halter. When they pull stop walking or do a quick pull. You don't let them pull you. Don't continue walking if they pull you, do a correction with the harness.

Yes! This tip is absolutely spot on for this harness to work its magic right away! Also, don't forget to pull down the little slider "lock" that's above the metal heart piece. LOVE this harness! I've used with a shepherd, a mini schnauzer, and a collie mix. Hands down, it's the BEST!

Try a front clip instead or even a halti. It'd also help if you didn't let her walk in front and instead try to keep her close.

Nice review. It’d help if you don’t give her so much slack in the leash. Only let her have about half the leash and have her walk next to you until she gets use to the new harness. Eventually you’ll be able to give her more slack in the leash. That’s how I trained my 93lb Bloodhound. It worked out great.

I got one of these today (before seeing this video) for our 27lb 4mo old Standard Aussie who is a puller! Took him for a walk and it was like night and day. He would pull lightly and then loosen up over and over until on the return trip, he was walking almost normally at my side. Only one walk done so far sooooo we'll hope he gets even better on the leash.

If you would've carefully read the directions you would've been able to successfully managed the dog more. On the package it tells you to introduce the harness to the dog, properly adjust and snuggly fit it to the dog. I've purchased this harness for my 87lbs bully that was pulling 5X worse and I followed directions and it stopped him from pulling on the spot. So much easier for me to take him to vet visits and park walking. Hope this information helps and Good luck.

I must be a medium or something because a few years back I needed a harness for this beagle I had. I decided to get a harness similar to this. I kid you not Idk if it was a dream or something but I had a vision of this same exact scenario with a loving family and some kids trying to put it on. It's crazy because it was in the park too and the family looked just like yours. I'm not a stalker or anything I'm just baffled as to why I would have a vision like this and then see it on You Tube over a harness for goodness sake!!! I had this vision 8-10 years ago. Anyway don't mind me. I thank you for your review.

My bella is a Rottweiler we walk every single day since ive gotten her 7 months back as a 12 pound puppy. I work and work with her but she still pulls a bit especially whens shes irratated, shes awesome off leash but on is still a work in progress. i use a choker chain, a simple on since ive tried so many things and nothing can stop her power like the choker. ONly things i havent tried are no pull harness or prong collar. After watching this im disheartened, i may have to stay with the chain. Thanks for the info!

Wow. It actually looks pretty good -- some dogs are just going to pull, no matter what happens. Ones that don't have any pain sensors can be very determined pullers; I know, I had a mixed breed who was like that, she'd pull me into the vet's (really, dog?) then circle and pull me back out. I am actually quite impressed with this harness from your experience. She is very beautiful. Thank you for sharing this experience!!!

@jrichards47424 жыл бұрын
I have noticed that this sporn harness won't stop my dog from pulling altogether, and at 70 years of age I need my dog not to pull me. She's only 25 pounds and pulls like a 50 lb dog. LOL I just got another collar today from amazon called the StarMark Training Collar, and thought of this video. This new collar actually did get her to stop pulling. She wants to pull but then I give this new collar a quick tug and release she stops pulling. I'm shocked and amazed at the same time and it was cheap but well made. I got the large because I can take off as many links as you need, so my pup can grow into it. Just don't leave it on them all the time, laying on it would be uncomfortable for the dog otherwise it's super light weight. This Starmark collar is meant only for correction. You don't need to keep constant pressure on it to stop them pulling, just a quick tug and release. If you keep constant pressure on the leash you are actually teaching the dog to pull. There are lots of videos on it in youtube. I'm impressed at how well it works and how inexpensive it is. $10.36 before tax. Here is the link in case you are interested or someone else is having the same difficulty. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A6BD5K Just another tip when you are walking your dog keep them always one side of you, and change directions often, maybe every 6 to 10 steps, when they seem to want to start pulling again this snaps them out of it, and they soon start calming down because they soon tire of the constant change of direction.. It's working for my energetic puppy so I it should work on yours too. Also lots of videos on that too. Hope this helped someone, I know how exhausting training can be so keep you sessions short cuz the dog has a short attention span but they will learn quickly if you are consistent even 5 minutes a day around your house inside or out. After that it's a pleasure to walk them.

You may not have it adjusted right. There is a plastic locking adjustment on the straps where you hook your leash. Adjust it so the harness is on snug but not tight. Looks like you have that locking adjuster way up near the hook on the leash.. You could also benefit from some leash training there are tons of videos on it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4irk2qvbrCbbMk

That's amazing. 7:10. ❤ 9:10 she def pulled less. 9:38 you shouldn't train a dog to not pull on such a long leash. When my dog acts up I have a one foot lead. All of my leashes have a double handle. The second being very close to my dog. It helps with control for sure. My dog is about 53lbs but I can still move him. When he pulls I stop right away and pretend to be bored. He wants to go so badly he starts whining and crying. I don't care 😂. Eventually he loses patience. What I also do is try to add a bit of training in throughout the day. I don't want the full walk to be about teaching him to not pull. He would get exhausted and frustrated. It won't take a day. It takes a lot of time and patience. I am currently using a prong and working on desensitization to it. Very soon he won't need it and I'll downgrade to a martingale. Harnesses are great for providing control but I've found they don't actually stop a determined dog from pulling (ice tried em all lol). Just my two cents. I bought this harness yesterday as I love sporn products. Wanted to see if it worked for anyone. It would be great to use a harness. I've always wanted that for my dog. Sadly my husky had other ideas. But we'll see. Thanks for sharing your experience. Hope you got your dog to stop pulling. ❤ Edit: 10:00 training ur dog in New territory is also a really big mistake. The dog is too curious and excited to learn anything or pay attention to u. 😢 13:20 awww y'all are doing great. The care u show is the 1st step and necessary to building a strong relationship w ur dog.

You should be talking to your dog when you walk your dog. Teach her to STOP AND come back to you reward with a treat. ALWAYS TALK TO YOUR DOG every day and time you see or interact with your dog. They want to interact with you Youvare the Aplha in their pack. Act like it by gently giving a command and REWARDING with treats & loud praise and petting after a week or so when your dog does the DESIRED BEHAVIOR Immediately praise and give scratches or petting while (overly) praising it. Your dog and You will be much happier once they know what you want from them. Always use the SAME WORDS to reinforce anything you want your dog to respond to. This method also works with teaching your dog to let you know what they want!! Potty? Water? Walk? Treat? Outside? Teach your dog by saying the word and showing your dog what you mean AT THE SAME TIME! Everyone who interacts with your dog should use the EXACT SAME WORDS that you used to training it. Dogs want your praise and love and they will respond very well the more & more you engage them with your voice and affection. (figure out how and where your dog likes to be scratched or petted) and ALWAYS REWARD THEM WITH YOUR POSITIVE VOICE AND TOUCH even a smile is recognized by your dog as your approval of their behavior!! The reverse is also true .To discourage your dog from a behavior use a even deep voice to get their attention then tell them what you are not happy about. And then STOP. Yelling at your dog over and over again it’s not do any good it just makes him feel worse and they get confused and scared in a deep from Voice acknowledge what you didn’t like the video when they look at you and look away they know just turn around and leave that action alarm signals to the dog they know what they did give them a few minutes and then try to go back to normal do not laugh do not reinforce but do not repeat over and over what they did wrong DOES NOT HELP TO STOP THE BEHAVIOR.
