In my minimal 10 years experience I’d say the Futura v3 has been my favorite just “grab & go” jet to fly. I felt the same about the 90mm the year before that. The year before that, it was the FMS Bae Hawk. There’s some really good, docile, easy to fly, pretty rugged jets on the market. You can’t go wrong with either the Futura v3 or the Avanti. Freewing and FMS have both put out some nice edf’s the last few years, but FMS seems to have the most forgiving stock landing gear.

I’d love to see a comparison of the Avanti V2 vs the 90mm Viper. I watched your comparison of the original Avanti and Viper 90. Great video! I think the Avanti V2 would be stiffer competition for the Viper. Trying to decide between those two right now. I really want the Viper, but the price difference is pushing me towards the Avanti V2

Avanti v2 bridges the performance gap. Also few fit and finish upgrades. V2 flies the same as V1. Adding a receiver to Avanti gets closer to Viper in price.

Plug Single Yellow wire lead into open channel. Settings > Channel Assign > Go to Channel lead plugged in > Assign Switch

I would still go with the AVANTI 8f you ask me... it has more battery options, and I don't need to modify the canopy to put in bigger once, there is no problem flying the AVANTI with a 5k+ packs if you want to, the landing speed is still quite slow, you have the reverse thrust now, and the sound is better too, so even if the prices were similar over here, and they are not, FMS models are way more expensive here, i would chose the AVANTI, it seems to have more plus points, feature wise compared to the FUTURA, even they both fly very nice...very nice vs video mate, blue skies

Hello BD Any reason for not using the 2x wing fence? And your yaw gain is so high ..cant believe it old firmware on the reciever or older reciever? I Cant go higher as 38 otherwise the ass shakes like a fish 😅😂 .. great channel and vids bro 👍 👌

Would the reflex gyro be good to use in the avanti? Its fairley cheaper for me.

Orientation needs to be correct. I would use a lower price receiver with gyro such as Lemon RX Gen 2...

Nice comparison. I enjoyed it. I have the V1 Avanti, and it is a great flying plane. I actually prefer it over my EF 90mm Viper. I have been waiting anxiously to get my hands on the V2. Any chance you know when they will be available again? Thanks - keep up the good work.

Yes took almost all of gain. Keep in mind its a 1X multiplier. Thanks for compliment on video. I dont have any for Futura.

@BDTennessee okok thx I am tuning my Futura.v.3 and first test results where roll28 pitch48 yaw45. Next day it was BFT4 and the futura was not good in controll. I thought something came loose haha I put your gains in it roll24 pitch 46 and was rocksolid in the air !!! Just my yaw was @ 50. I checked the yaw factorysettings from eflight viper90 (yaw36) and eflight habu70mm 6s (yaw45) today I gonna raise the yaw gains more. But it flies already 10times better as my gains. I can't believe 4clicks on roll make such a HUGE difference 😳 What means multipler 1×? Is it if your knob makes 1 click for the gains 🤔 If you turn on it?? Again thank you very much for my rocksolid bird!!!

@@feelgooddany great,glad to hear the info helped! Glad you got it dialed in and rock solid! Multiplier 1X is the option at the main AS3X gain screen where it has the box where you can change. Default value is 1x...

Hey BD I just bought the AVANTI V2 based on recommendations from guys at my field who fly alot of edf and turbines. Yesterday I was out and flying my VIPER VS bnf with a ar631 flew great on the maiden and on the second flight coming across the field it lost signal and the plane just kept going head on into the trees and you know the rest. No idea on why or what but now its in my sanford and son parts department..lol every guy at the field that flies edf go bigger 80 to 90mm bc they fly better and easier and that maybe true but there was a failure on my receiver and that idk why. But I have the AVANTI V2 coming and look fwd to flying it. Thanks for sharing👍👍👍👍👍

The Freewing appears to have larger wheels than the FMS. Would the Freewing tolerate rougher grass than the FMS?

Avanti looks better IMO. No clear canopy and pilot makes Futura look cheaper though it does look a bit larger.

I just bought the Freewing Avanti V2. I noticed on yours you don't have the wing outlets on yours. Do we have to glue them on and use them or can we not put them on?

Thanks BD. Just one other question for you on the flap settings. I know when you deploy the flaps the plane will want to go upward. What settings did you use for down elevator mix. @@BDTennessee

@@andybean35if that happens , plane is too fast or flaps deploy too fast. Use elevator mix or flight mode to trim for speed. I have a flight review for Avanti V2 with settings in description.

I tune them while in the sky. Takes few flights,but i adjust each one independently. Once all dialed in ,apply gains and make sure no issue with speed or approaches...

@@txkflier yes for basic settings like described in the manual. However i do testing in different scenarios,wind conditions and stability like final apporaches. You dont want them too high either,which can be the case when turning them down just enough not to oscillate...

Always great videos, and very cool comparisons. You should know your videos help a greatly when deciding on an additional or new EDF. It's priceless to be able to demo all these beautiful aircraft. these videos You just put this up after agonizing r rationalizing over this beautiful FUTURA (I like the Green) or the Freewing F-22 Raptor 90mm? I currently have the Viper 90mm but the FUTURA is sweet and it's almost the perfect EDF sport jet in this class. The F-22 has a 9-blade fan and a fairly powerful 3672-1900Kv brushless inrunner motor and 130A ESC. I like the 90mm EDF, or better on a single 6S LiHV.

I like the green one too. Futura and F22 id say are in different class/style of planes. Futura more docile and use smaller battery. F-22 is more aggressive and aerbatic. Futura is like a sport pattern plane and F22 is a aerobatic 3d aggressiveness jet :D Single LiHV is good option. Same battery works in F-22 and Viper 90mm. Viper will have better thrust and power over the F-22.Viper has better stock electronics and lights.Better gear too. F-22 is lighter and aerobatic flight envelope. Easier to get parts and available EDF upgrades.
