I keep my boat on a mooring and I love it. My yacht club has a tender service for moorings, so I can just get a ride to and from my boat any time between 9 AM and dark all summer. When I spend the night on the boat, I like floating in my own little universe and watching the sun rise over the lake in the morning, rather than feeling like I'm in a block of condos in a slip. I also have a dinghy with an electric trolling motor that I'll launch on Friday and tie up to the yacht club's dinghy dock all weekend when I spend the night out there.

The tender service is a game changer. That makes the mooring much more practical… BTW your comment was very enjoyable to read. I could not help but to picture myself floating on the water watching that sunset while reading your comment. Thanks

@@solitudeandsailing It's as beautiful as you imagine it. I'm in Milwaukee, WI, so the sunset view from my mooring is over the lit up city skyline with the lights reflecting on the water, and my sunrise view is clear over the horizon of Lake Michigan.

it sank, there was a huge storm that moved up the coast about 10 years ago, lots of wind and huge waves thru the night. the boat was fine when i check on it before i went to work that morning, around noon that day i got call from my friend who's family ran Ray's Bait Shop telling me that my boat was under water. Thank god, we got out before it leaked fuel

Sorry to hear about the boat. That’s terrible. On another note I often go to Ray’s Bait shop. Good service there

@@solitudeandsailing that's great, I haven't been there in awhile, but I promised myself and my daughter to make time for fishing and being on the water this year

Have a fun and safe summer on the water,,, and moorings are big no for me. I lost my 25ft Mako on mooring in Apponaug Cove a few years ago. it's well worth it to have slip
