I love all of the Bronze based polarized lenses, whether it be the Ruby Polarized, the Tungsten, the Rose Gold or the Shallow water polarized. Love the warmer hues they provide, vs the cooler hues from the grey-based lenses.

I love my flak 2.0 PRIZM tungsten polarized sunglasses. They’re great for reducing the glare on vehicles in traffic. They also have great color enhancement, especially for red, green, yellow, and orange. Street signs pop, and foliage looks extra beautiful. Definitely life enhancing.

I keep my glasses for a long time usually, but I dumped my favorite pair in the lake this summer and now need new ones. I have always worn the gold iridium lenses in the past and loved them, but they don’t make those any more. I’ve tried the 24k gold iridium, but those are not the same as the original old gold iridium at all. These tungstens look more like what they used, did you have any experience with those, and if so would you say these are the closest I’ll be able to get to the gold iridiums of the past? Have had a pair of Thinlink with prizm grey for years, just got a set of Whisker with Tungsten Polarized and WOW... they are phenomenal. My new favorite. Would love a new set of thinlink with Tungsten. (hint)

Hey there! The Prizm Tungsten performs best in bright daytime conditions. I would not recommend them for night driving as they will prove too dark, making it difficult to make out details in the road ahead.

I call them oaks too. I have these lenses. Like other people I love that they enhance colors, but I’m trying so hard to get used to the brown. I’m used to black and grey lenses. Everything being tinted brown is messing with me, but I feel like I could get used to them I have the Oakley Holbrook XL in the wood grain. Beautiful sunglasses.

Yes, both are mirrored. The polarized filter would be the only difference between the two.

Yes it would, Justin! The Prizm Tungsten uses a bronze base tint which enhances contrast and color. Rose base tints work well too, another great option for tennis. Notably the Prizm Trail, Trail Torch, or Prizm Dark Golf. However, if you decide to opt for the Tungsten, make sure you select the non-polarized option as polarization can negatively affect your ability to track the ball in flight. Nothing! Same lens. The term 'Iridium' refers only to the mirror coating on the lens front.

Hi there! Prizm Tungsten would be a lighter lens compared to Prizm Ruby and would provide more contrast which is great for cloudy days. The Prizm Tungsten is great for an all-around pair but if you are light-sensitive, I would suggest the Prizm Ruby. We hope this helps!

It can work for fishing, especially if you are looking for a lens to use for fishing and other everyday activities. The bronze base will increase contrast and we recommend getting a polarized version of this lens to help cut glare on the water. Hi Lala! The Tungsten uses a bronze base which gives a warm outlook while boosting contrast and colors where the grey will keep colors more neutral and true to tone. I would really appreciate your expert advice. I am going shallow water salt water sight fishing for Permit and Bonefish and need prescription lenses that will best suited for that. I know that you cannot get the Prism Shallow Water in prescription yet, so I am looking for the next best option. I have this same question. My last prescription lenses were prizm black polarized. Best prescription sunglasses I’ve ever had, I love the color and clarity and contrast…however on the flats they weren’t ideal. These are what I’m leaning to for my new script.

Hi Jeff! A bronze or Amber polarized base tint combined with a green mirror will bode well for shallow water salt water sight fishing. Costa, Bajio, Maui Jim, and Srx have great frames geared toward fising that will stay in place and provide generous coverage for long hours of casting.

Oakley is pretty particular about the frame and lens combinations they offer. We really don't see PRIZM Tungsten in any sport frames. It looks like your options are PRIZM Road, transition, or clear lenses for this next release in that model.

Hi there! YES, a PRIZM Polarized lens will work great for driving because it helps to cut glare coming from car bumpers or windshields on the road. Generally speaking, the darker colors like Sapphire and Black work best in sunny conditions. Something like PRIZM Tungsten works great in a variety of conditions-sun or clouds. Hope this helps!

Hi there! The Holbrook lenses are not designed to be interchangeable but you can swap them out. If you do this a lot there is a chance you will damage the edge of the lenses. The icon on the temple is not interchangeable.

Hi there! PRIZM Bronze is PRIZM Tungsten without the iridium(mirror) coating. The lenses function very similarly but Tungsten will block out a bit more light on sunny days.

Thanks for the question! As long as you're getting them in non-polarized, they would be great for golf! They may be a bit dark for most golfers, but the color-enhancement is fantastic for the sport and would make a great all-around pair as well.

Hello! Was there a specific frame model you were looking for that included the Tungsten Iridium lens? If you need prescription lenses, then the Tungsten can be made to almost any Oakley sunglass frame as well. However, I'm unfamiliar with the 'G5' version of this lens.
