I'm glad I found a reviewer that actually lifts weights when testing earbuds. It's hard to gauge sport headphones when reviewers only run, I primarily lift, and I'm stoked that the heart rate monitor works well while lifting weights.

Maybe you can agree with me, but there’s still a fit test they all fail to account for when lifting: the clench test (patent pending). When I lift heavy and clench/grit my teeth, it expands the ear canal and a TON of earbuds fall out. Or shift and with anc that completely revokes the properties and you have to readjust to get a seal again. I wish more didn’t just shake but actually grit their teeth like they’re actually straining
@jasonbirdsong5198
@jasonbirdsong5198 2 ай бұрын
I absolutely agree. Most reviewers will just shake their hands and say they have a great fit, but the second I'm laying on a bench and push heavy weight and clinch my teeth my ear buds roll across the gym. That's why I've never trusted any buds without wings. And also why I've owned dozens upon dozens of earbuds that never get used. @@seanlinehan1136

@@seanlinehan1136 this was my main gripe with B2Ps. Tried 200 tips, found ones that were better fit than anything else but STILL was always adjusting them on the gym the entire time. Mainly when benching, as soon as I laid on the bench, ANC instantly "off" and can hear the obnoxious loud music instantly because they just start popping out... Or if you sweat, also pop out. I still don't know which buds to get now.

Unlike others here I don’t necessarily have a problem with the price because decent wireless earbuds can cost $200 and a good heart rate sensor can cost around $100 and maybe there’s some convenience having it all in one device. The problem though is the cadence lock you mention. It should be a solved problem in 2024. I used to get it a lot from chest bands so now use an upper arm strap instead which works great (for me). As a runner I see cadence lock as a massive fail

Thanks. Great review! I love Sennheiser headphones, but if the heat rate and temperature measures are only available for Polar products, I don't think I can buy these. It's not that I really want them - I use a heart rate monitor that I'm guessing would be more accurate - but I don't want to pay for features I can't use. It seems like bad marketing to charge us non-Polar peeps the total amount for a product with features unavailable to us.

Very interesting review. I was also shocked about how poorly the Polar Vantage V3 wrist-sensor records heart rate, when looking at your charts. It is completely off a lot of the time?

Got Em. So far so. I would just like to turn off the temperature in heart rate sensors without having to turn off the high quality sound using eco mode. I did have to download a third party EQ app to get better sound. I love the option to tap on my cheek. The downside is that it's activated when I'm chewing a crispy apple😂. I love the product but I haven't decided to keep it or return it yet. $330 is a little steep

They would have been a great pick without the heart rate sensor and temparature measure at 150 - 200 bucks. Senseless expensive feature hardly anybody is using, consuming battery and prone to break/repair. I dont know what kind of people making such decisions at Sennheiser or better their new parent Company the Swiss hear aid manufactorer Sonova. However, if they dont sell they will decrease the price soon.

there is about a hundred alternatives that offer just what you want. what kind of people decide to make a product that's already on the market in numerous versions? You could ask your question about the apple watch, and guess what, it has been selling like hot cake since it first came out. And each year everyone is on their heels hoping apple adds more features and more sensors.
@Shinobi_6
@Shinobi_6 2 ай бұрын
@@maxmeier532 but the Apple watch hold actual value after all. Containing features which are useful and the product makes sense - this is nnovative. Who wants to monitor their heart rate on the watch and in parallel over the earbuds?? who does not have a smartwatch with sport functions but is doing sports. What is the used case, the benefit?? Nobody knows what to do with the temperature measure at all, is it the body or the skin temperature anyway?? when iam going on a run i must pull out my smartphone to check on the sennheiser music app my temperature because like the vast majority of sports people i am not using polar devices but Garmin and Apple. I like Sennheiser for their sound and supporting the company since years owning several products, thats why i am interested in these product, but I think this earbuds will be a tuff sale. I hope for the company I am wrong and millions of Peloton bike enthusiats will flock out to buy the earbuds for 329,- bucks in order to get rid of their expensive smartwatches and monitor their heart rate and body temperature over their earbuds on their bike displays. By the way, Bose already introduced a heartrate sensor in their first version of sport earbuds without success, maybe now the time has come?
@Shinobi_6
@Shinobi_6 Ай бұрын
@@maxmeier532 Beats Fit Pro for instance sell because they implemented functions and design features which work and got a benefit to people. To try to sell earbuds for 329,- with a heart rate and temperature sensor is nothing of a benefit while literally everybody has got a sportwatch with much better sensors anyway. I dont know anybody who is interested to pay 329,- for a sport earbud which is anyway prone to break because of rain, dirt and sweat and I have not noticed these sell like hotcakes right now.

I’ve tried all kinds of earbuds with ear tips of all sizes and with fins as well as hooks. Absolutely none of them stay on long enough once I start sweating. Only Shokz works for me. The sound quality is not as good as some of the others but at least I don’t have to put up with the irritation of them falling off from time to time leaving me to keep fiddling with them for the rest of my run.

He literally says they’re the best sounding he’s ever had for sports buds. Even if he hasn’t tried the Jabra 8, he’s tried other jabra and the sound profiles from one gen to the next aren’t much different if at all. Plus, jabra isn’t known for sound quality
@DesFit
@DesFit 2 ай бұрын
The 8 Actives are more comfortable but also much less secure. I've had an earbud fall out on a few occasions with those where that's not an issue with the Sennheisers. Sound quality, while good on the Jabras is much better on the Sennheisers. I don't think you'd be disappointed in the 8 Actives by any means but comparing them side by side, the Sennheisers are noticeably better. ANC is about the same but may be slightly better on the Elite 8s due to the Sennheisers semi-open design however the Sennheisers do a much better job with wind especially with the anti-wind mode. I don't find Jabras to handle wind noise well.
