World Cup Champions, South Africa, have won the Freedom Cup for the first time since 2009. The Springboks achieved that feat by beating New Zealand for a second consecutive time in the Rugby Championship, recording another hard-fought 18-12 victory at the Cape Town Stadium. The Freedom Cup is the minor trophy contested between South Africa and New Zealand during the Rugby Championship. The Springboks who have also all but clinched the Rugby Championship for the first time since 2019, scored the only tries of the match- through captain Siya Kolisi and replacement hooker, Malcolm Marx.

Now that I dont have an issue with a true New zealand supporter saying how it is, what joy. Stem saam. Was a terrible watch… intense, physical, but the ref just too involved, too many small handling errors, no real running rugby with flow - I blame the incessant rule changes and how the refs have to involve themselves. Most of us want 15 vs 15, big hits, line breaks, big scrums, big mauls, more tries. Awe man se kind! 🦌🟢🟡🇿🇦
