Anyone who actually attended the event with a VIP pass will tell you it was a huge waste of money. The benefits didn't justify the price hike due to the overwhelming number of people with "VIP" passes. Additionally, the organization of autographs and photos was a complete disaster. Many attendees were left disappointed after spending half a day in line only to have their opportunities canceled. For example, Allen Iverson canceled his photo ops after making us wait from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the cancellation announced around 3 p.m. The event was open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, so we had no chance to do anything else. Fanatics is only offering refunds for the photos and autographs, ignoring the wasted time and disappointed fans, including upset kids. This was an absolute disaster, and Fanatics needs to do much better for fans in the future.

I assume you are referring to him saying "I need the thrill of the chase"? If so, to be fair, he did preface that statement with "when I'm ripping wax" which is a small part of what some people do regarding sports cards. However, I think that collecting in general is naturally inherently similar in some ways to gambling. Any collector searching for the last card to finish a set, or that holy Grail card they have been searching for for years is chasing the dopamine release that they get when they finally locate and purchase what they have been looking for. It's really not much different than when a gambler gets a rush from winning a big bet. I guess what I'm saying is that who cares how people are enjoying this hobby? Whether they are ripping wax to try and chase that lottery ticket hit and are strictly motivated by money. Or if they are that "true collector", we all see in every comment section preaching about being one of the master race. It's not your money so who cares how people spend theirs? So what if some people see this as gambling? I personally don't give AF and think you shouldn't either.

Of course, people who strive on selling hobby boxes talks down on retail products, ive lost way more money on hobby products then retail. Look at Prizm basketball this year when a 900 box might get you $50 in value, when a blaster prizm box for $40 almost guarantees half the value back.

Dealing with people who never want to pay comp prices no matter where you turn in order to keep going forward made it a bad decision in the long run. Im out chasing the "childrens game." All this shit trying to keep in with the Jonses was just a fuitile move on my part. Now im getting to the point of getting out of it completely. I wanted to be involved with the Hobby. What needs to happen to 10x the number of collectors? Well first, card companies need to lower the price of these boxes, it's ridiculous. They will never get 10x the number of collectors as long as the prices are this high. Fanatics say that "collecting is cool" but it's not cool, it's an expensive hobby and they are trying to lure an everyday sports fan with pro players at FanFest? C'mon, once these 10X collectors go to a Walmart or Target and find nothing and then go to the card shop and walk out spending over $250+, we will see how long these 10x collectors will stay in this expensive hobby.

How come 2 of u guy dont have enough nice things to say about fanatics and all the comments and alot of other KZbinrs all say what a disappointment and waste of time and money it was?

Hmmmmmm, maybe because it WAS a waste of money. Did that thought ever cross your mind?

Who said it was a waste of money? Everyone’s videos I have seen said there were pros and cons.

TPott comparing himself to a professional athlete is classic. TPott is the epitome of an internet hero because of this Internet channel. Geoff gets way too much hate but oddly TPott has a lot of fan boys, I guess a lot of people online are similar to him and relate.

😂😂😂 Tpott is a legend in his own mind. SCJW (sports card justice warrior)

That would be because T Pot is in this for the love of the hobby and is sincere. After watching that abysmal sales pitch on the CT scan video by Geoff he just lost me forever. But that’s just because in sports cards people have different values which is fine

@@bradleywhite5406 what does “love of the hobby” even mean? Is this like saying you can’t be a true sports team fan unless you have posters on your wall and paint your face?
