I wasn’t a card collector as a kid. I collected antique watches and military. When I was 12, (in 1978) my dad bought me a $2000 pair of dueling pistols. On my birthday when we were at a show. I still have them. That was a huge purchase for him, and we weren’t rich. But it was a smart purchase and a legacy gift. Some dads are better than others. Did that make me spoiled? Nope. It made me remember to always take care of my dad when he needed me.

I'm a fan of the content no doubt especially this weekend since I can't be there. I think it's good to see how you all think genuinely as the deals happen however the average collector like myself would never be able to close a deal like that because these dealers know who you are and what you mean for the hobby. I almost feel like these dealers know that your context is popular and might feel pressured to turn you away on a deal. These same dealers are not so motivated give the average collector a deal. Thank you for sharing your experience of the weekend. 👌🏼

Absolutely agree! These dealers know they have the spotlight on them and that the video will have multi thousands of views. There are some harsh comments on this boy. Free will. People can say no, and if they were not at some point a head, they would say no. The boy is learning some valuable lessons in life. Ones that politicians and lawyers use every day. It will serve him well to know the skill of negotiating. Father and son, time alone in a hobby they both enjoy, that is priceless. All the men bashing this video. Should be ashamed of yourself. Especially in today's society. I don't know. Maybe you are saying expensive. Well, quit. The man obviously made his money and chooses to spend it on a hobby he and his son enjoy. Those of you whining, just get in the grind and grind harder, set yourself a goal, dont bash a brother. Everyone who is talking trash about his Son's deal - is out of line. No matter what you say- he did right. How do I know? Because he made the deal. Besides the argument that we are talking about cardboard, the dealers are their to sell cards. Not to display them. You only sell at a price if you want to. Would he have sold them to me for that price ? Probably not. The kid helped him do stuff this weekend PLUS- The dealer probably got more hits, which equals future sales, from having his Knoxville card shop mentioned on one of the most popular KZbin baseball collector's channels. Don't think the dealer didn't factor that in. He got free advertising, cash , and I guarantee- if he makes a big buy from SCI - he can mention this deal as part of his negotiations- so simmer down on the clutching of the pearls. As far as all of the 'how does a kid have that much cash?'- probably from making deals like that. I'm a outside salesman, and the first rule of buying/selling is- don't be afraid to ask. Son, if you ever need a job in sales - message me. Lol. The dealer made it plain that he was open to negotiate. You guys kill me with the BS. 😂 way to go Kid

in my opinion hard to watch. cam is on and a son with his father who has a million/billion dont know business on his side making such calls on the vendors. in my view, when the cam isnt on and his father isnt by his side - even if u as a single person without that reputation making those calls, u never got those deals. there is a pressure in the hobby when u handle with this whales when it comes to reputation. in general i like the content here, what i dont like is when u squeeze some deals excessive and got some deals 500-1500 undercut, just because of reputation.

Not sure why there’s so much hate on the kid. Sure, his dad is financing his opportunity - but for a younger kid to voice his opinion on big deals, that’s an excellent start to a business career. Aggressive pricing 110% and he’s taking them at the knees but c’mon you gotta love the guts on a young kid like that. Imagine him being shy and letting his dad take the deals, he does the opposite and looks for opportunity. He’s gonna make mistakes at his age but I really don’t get the hate. If you were his age, you wouldn’t have half the thoughts he does. The confidence in the voice and insights he has (right or wrong) will take him a long way as he learns.

Gotta love this one. Amazing to see the growth of this young man. I told all my kids now. Call Reese at card HQ to see all my stuff when I pass away. And I’m only 50. So when Reese is my age he will revive a call from my kids. Hopefully at least 30 years from now. But. But. But. Please no wild wild went offers on my lifetime PC. LoL. Great job guys.

She’s also the main playmaker/ball handler on the worst team in the league (first pick remember?). Turnovers are gonna happen more cause others suck and you’re trying to do extra to make something happen.

nothing better than that father son bond, especially with things you both love. Kudos to you Geoff on how you and Reeves love what you do. When it's time to take over Reeve will do a great job (as well as Harrison). Just great to see you both being best friends.

3:47 Kid is right, Geoff. He’s smarter than you already! It’s really just a “Panini Silver pack. Not a real set.” 😂😂😂 It’s a just a perpetual flip card that nobody will ever want in the end. 🤷🏻

incorrect those panini the national cards will be worth major money in the future even the base cards as they are 1000 times more limited than other base cards
@studiocollector1061
@studiocollector1061 3 ай бұрын
@@Lazy-kv4kb I disagree. First of all, I never compared that card with base cards. Why would I? 😆 Think about it this way. If you are a Caitlin Clark collector, that Panini National product will be the last product on your list to chase. That’s my point.
@Lazy-kv4kb
@Lazy-kv4kb 3 ай бұрын
@@studiocollector1061 Wrong again don't forget in the very near future you won't be able to get Panini the national licensed cards at the National anymore this will drive people to buy one while they can as there will be no opportunity in the future to get a pack at the National go ask the owners of Star basketball cards from the 80's if their cards are worthless because it's not a real set 🤣
@studiocollector1061
@studiocollector1061 3 ай бұрын
@@Lazy-kv4kb disagree again. Discontinuing license won’t make a difference in the lack of demands in these cards. They will always be the flip cards for people to get to the next real chase.

@@studiocollector1061 Buy them now for pennies and come back to this comment section in 10 years and thank me later I am biased cause I probably have the biggest collection of these in the world but mark my words these will be monsters in the future especially the vip gold pack ones between the two gold and silver there are some of the most stunning looking cards in previous years and as an fyi I sold a herbert rc at a show for $15,000 2 months ago
