As a manager for the team from 1977 through 1979, i do not remember missing any practice days on the field in Memorial Stadium because of rain or snow. I do remember many a cold dark afternoon assisting Coach Novak. Very happy that the new athletes have such a nice facility in which to spend their time as an Illini.

You know, for the folks complaining about facilities for athletes, mainly football. For a lot of schools, football pays for all the other sports including women's sports. TV dollars bring in money for the programs AND for the school (library upgrades, money for general scholarship funds, etc). More exposure brings donors for not just sports programs but other facilities. Honestly dont get the hate. Great looking facility 👍
