excellent interview! as a tampa guy i enjoyed hearing from mack's COL perspective. you guys had the hedman interview a short while back, so i like the fairness and balance. COL imo was the better, correct team to win. it hurt not having brayden point but i'm not going to use that as an excuse - i'm sure the avs had guys sore and busted up too. all that said, i think COL has the potential to repeat if not compete well for a 3-peat. they don't have the mileage or wear and tear that TBL has, the labor costs are reasonable and they know what it takes to neck-stomp a 2x defending stanley cup champion. sakic and macF have done a fantastic job over the last 5 years to put COL where they are now, and where they could be in the future. 💯

I'm really curious how the current players feel playing for Colorado Avalanche knowing how strong the continuity from the glory years of the Sakic/Roy-era of the 90s and early-00s into the Landeskog/MacKinnon is? It's not often franchises have players with retired numbers go on to lead their franchise to a Stanley Cup from the front office. I wonder if MacKinnon wants to be a part of this legacy going forward beyond his playing career as well.
@biffdanielson28202 жыл бұрын
The kadri loss hurts, but the Av's core is still stacked. They have 4 guys that could put up 100pts, and other players poised to have breakout seasons. I don't see anyone in the west topping them.

Maybe 3 that could put up 100, I don’t see 4. Honestly probably none. Mackinnon, makar and Rantinen. But Mackinnon always misses games and makar is a defenceman.

My opinion is that loss to Vegas last postseason help them win. Usually teams want to move on but the Avs kept that as fuel. The Avs needed to lose to win. Plus the Avs also used the Leafs series against the Lightning. Love Mack good to hear he wants to stay in Colorado. Side note- Update Congrats to Mack on his re-sign contract, he set the benchmark high.
