lmao every time i watch this dudes videos he's depressed or not pleased with the raptors picks. We'll be alright man - 35 mil is the new 25/mil with the new TV deal - the cap space goes up every year

Honestly. He's got the 11th highest PG salary with about 3 guys waiting on big extensions plus more down the line. This contract is going to age great in a couple years with how he looked playing our system. Darko really trusts him which just unlocks who he is as a player

OG got $43M/yr for 5 years. IQ is worth about the same. Not a steal of a deal, but ok.

IQ getting 35 million is too much man. 27-30 Million max. Scottie I’m cool with but we literally had his 5th year, 38 was the max we could have offered.

Bobby has dropped the ball on this one. I love IQ, but Bobby gave him a very generous 5-year $175m offer as if he was an UFA. Why not just ask Quick's agent to shop around for offers in the league and match the highest offer on the table? He is a RFA, meaning we had the last say and could match any offer out there.

Thats how you lose people. Imagine if you boss at work says I'm not giving you a raise for the upcoming years but if you find a better deal then I'll match it. You wouldn't feel your valued. Why would anyone want to be part of a organization where you are not valued. And it's not like there's better point guards then him available. He's pretty good at what he does and team is building. I like it

@@raheel1786 To each their own. You wanna build a contender championship team, then this is the wrong way of going about it. What will u do when RJ’s contract comes up for extension u think he wont want a similar deal? Quick is great and I love him and he loves it here, loves the vibes, coaching staff. When he was traded to us at the start of the year he reportedly wanted $25m / year which the Knicks were not prepared to pay. What changed in the last 6 months that this figure has now grown to $35m/ yr?

@medved4030 Ujiri and Webster knows how to build a basketball team better than you. What changed with Quickly wanting 25 million to getting 35 million ? His value. He was a starter with the Raptors and played well as a starter. You also have the new TV deals. It's common sense
@medved4030

@@Music-yq8qc I'm sure they do. I don't dispute that. Although you may ask them why they are treating a player who's a RFA an UFA? Beats me. Quick knew he was going to be a starter when he heard he was going to Toronto. The reason Knicks turned him down for $25m/yr was because they had no room to make him a starter. It was assumed we would agree to a figure in that range and give him the starting PG role. I like Quick, all i'm saying is we could have easily signed him for 5-year - $150m. Maybe giving Scottie a 5-year - $225m max rookie contract extension only a few days ago influenced the amount? Perhaps it would have been different if they inked out Quickley's contract first and then Scotties later since they knew they'd be giving him a max anyway. The point is to create the best possible roster with your cap space allocation.

@medved4030 I can't disagree with what you are saying, I see your point and I see mine too. I think he had to be paid that much. It's the increasing cap space and what other teams are doing around the leauge. When teams are paying Fred vanvleet 40 a year it makes it tough to not pay your starter. And I'm not hating on vanvleet It's just a precedent setter but I do agree that they need to build the best possible roster to compete in the next 2 to 3 years and rj will be getting aid a bigger contract maybe even bigger then scottie just look at Tatum and browns contracts in Boston. If toronto really wnats to contend they will have to go into the luxury tax, no other option just look at what Knicks and boston are doing and okc is heading there soon, you have to be in the luxury to win now.
