He has improved a lot since last season and pretty much taken the #1 job from Kuemper. Both Flyer goals were not Lindgren's fault, and he kept the score from becoming worse than 2-0 and then OV's goal triggered the Caps scoring 5 straight goals.

@@bobnewfart7630That is a bit of an over reach statement. I like Lindgren a lot, but as much as he's improved he has his flaws that will prevent him from becoming a true #1 goalie. He has had multiple injuries the last 2 years(including this one) that hinder him from being a durable goalie. He's a talented backup at the least, but his max potential is probably in the range of platoon/spot starter when the starting goalie is struggling. If he didn't have the injury issues then I would say he can be a regular #1, even though he's age 31.

I don't know why they didn't show Lingren's huge save on that Couturier attempt. It would have been a completely different game for the Caps had Lindgren not made the save. 4-3 instead of 5-2 game for the last 5 minutes in the third.

I am a Caps fan. It's my firm belief that the Caps will not make the playoffs. They are inconsistent and lack secondary scoring. We will probably be sellers at the trade deadline. Stock up for the future. We will need it. Good win for the Caps. Though, they need to play a full 60 minutes and 200 foot game all the time. Philly isn't the laughing stock of last year. They will compete under Torts. Tonight, they played one good period, which wasn't good enough.

@thisisbushinryu I beg to differ. This team has been in decline since the Cup run of 2018. No new talent has made much of an impact because the prior coaches refused to play younger guys. Moreover, GM Mac has done nothing to take the focus away from Ovi. Everything is centered on him and the goals record. Meanwhile, the team is playing poorly for a consecutive year. Team defense is the biggest flaw in the Caps game going on 5 plus years. I don't apologize for seeing past the wool/smoke screen/blinders worn/obscuring other Caps fans.

I'm in the minority on this, as I could see Flyers/Bolts both miss the playoffs! Flyers team is still young, as Ersson showing kinks in his armor(his GAA is still pretty good, but his SV% is very low .900's). With Bolts they are overplaying Vasilevskiy and wearing him down too much(I think he has played 90% of 30 games since he came back from injury), and their bottom 9 is not good enough to help the team win games. Caps and maybe the Pens could both sneak in or Flyers could still make it as a Wild Card and the Bolts miss. Wings seem in good position to get in, even with Lyons are their starting goalie.
