I think the humility is more of a result of being media-trained since he was a kid then him being "humble" per se. @bukelos28042 жыл бұрын
Hello, honestly, I don't think he is gonna win the Cup with Edmonton. Maybe he has a small chance in the far future, like 6 years or so, but that IMO depends on many other factors, which most likely won't come together anyway. As much as Connor deserves winning the Cup asap, since he's individualy the best NHL player of today, it won't happend I am afraid, cuz hockey is a team game and no matter how great you are as an individual, your team, it's synergy and depth is gonna be always the most important thing here. Your great individual skill can carry your team in to playoffs, but that's it. Most of the players on the Oilers team are mediocre and some are horrendously overpaid and overrated, thus crippling the team with salary cap, which in turn also cripples the possibility of trades and deals for new, better players. Take for example the Perfection line of Bergeron, Marchand and Pasta. Not only they are individually very good and skilled players, each of them also took team friendly contract so they could be surrounded by better teammates with depth scoring and true grit, which McDavid doesn't have in his team. It's only up to him and Leon and that is not good enough for playoffs games since coaching staff would come up with a strategic plan for couple of their players to just focus and neutralize both of them. McDavid is practically in the same spot right now as was Dominik Hašek aka the Dominator in Buffalo. He was the best goalie when he played for Buffalo, insane stats consistently for many years, many awards... but no Stanley Cup. Eventually he requested a trade and they let him go to Detroit, where he won the ultimate price, twice. Anyway, sry for this long thought novel of mine, congratz to everybody who read it to the end! Cheers
