Except it wasn't because it Tyler Bozak and Bozak hit Acciari's stick which had the puck. That Acciari fell is inconsequential. You are allowed to hit the blade of their stick to get the puck and if they trip on a legally executed poke check, it is not a penalty. It looked bad, until replay showed it was a good call.

@@atex6175 I'm a Bruins fan but because I apparently have nothing else to do, I downloaded the video and did a frame-by frame replay of the moment. (did you?) Pasta tripped him. His stick was not on the ice. I'm not going to feel guilty about it not being called. The Bruins were victims of a few bad calls themselves and played a much better game. Also why would anyone try to "draw a call" in a situation like that when the risk of it not being called is so great?

excerpt from the rule book re tripping : " Accidental trips occurring simultaneously with or after a stoppage of play will not be penalized. If, in the opinion of the Referee, a player makes contact with the puck first and subsequently trips the opponent in so doing, no penalty shall be assessed. " the Bs defender played the puck and then the blues skater skated over his stick. the guy went down because of the stick, but it wasn't a trip. it was incidental contact after the puck had been taken away. watch it in slo mo.

This is as clear cut of a trip as you will ever see. Too much Jack edwards has warped your mind kiddo. That isn’t a trip. Thomas skates into Pastrnak’s stick not even a second after Pastrnak plays the puck. If a player is making a play on the puck, they are entitled to that space. I have no idea what anybody would expect Pastrnak to do with his stick in that situation.

A difficult but very successful road trip for the Boston Bruins, showed their elite status with 5 Pts in 4 games, and extended their first place lead in both the Atlantic division and eastern conference over the second place Florida Panthers and third place New York Rangers, and only 2 Pts back from first place overall Vancouver Canucks with Boston one game in hand. Now it’s back home for a 5 game home stand Go Bruins-True Bruins Fan.

I know Boston is an original 6 team but cmon, you can't have a great game decided due to a flagrant penalty that directly leads to the game winning goal. I mean it's not as though skates got tangled, the Boston player literally sticks his foot out and trips the St Louis player at center ice on the puck. Both referees have to be looking at the play and I don't want to hear that one of them didn't see yet alone both of them, so why isn't the penalty called ? Very disappointing ending to a good game. Makes you feel cheated.

what is it with all you boneheads on this page that can't see that was not a trip ? if the defender plays the puck, gets the puck, but the opponent is tripped incidentally it is not a penalty. watch it in slo mo. the Bs player had his stick on the ice to play the puck, and he knocked it away from the blues skater before he was touched. the blues skater skated over the Bs skater's stick. think of it this way. in a very common play, a defenseman will slide to break up a pass while defending a two on one. the defender slides into the puck, gets the puck and dumps the forward, too. no call. the rule is, you half fans, is that you can dump the guy incidentally if you are playing the puck, and you get the puck. if you don't know the rules, please be quiet.
