I agree. I'm a Leafs fan and would love Matthew on our team. Tkachuk WILL win a cup. If not this year - some year and maybe multiple. Both he and his brother Brady are exactly the types of players who win. Neither may be as skilled as a McDavid or Ovechkin but they have that intangible something that sets them apart from other players. What a gem he is.

The goals wouldn’t mean anything if Bob wasn’t saving every shot like his life depended on it. That’s not to say that Tkachuk’s goal’s haven’t been timely and impressive. Of course they are and then some. But goaltending has been the biggest impact throughout these entire playoffs for the Panthers.

There is something about hockey.. this game shows who is the grittiest of them all.. you can't fake this. After winning the President's trophy last year and getting unceremoniously dumped by the Bolts, after barely making it to the playoffs this season (as a Sabres fan i always found the Cats in the No:8 spot) they suddenly turn their beast mode/road warriors on in the playoffs There is something very special about this team... And i dont mean talent wise even though the Panthers have their elite players..that Barkov equalizer was a thing of beauty...but these men are playing for each other. And playing very hard. Bobrovsky is The Rock and Matthew Tkachuck is making the Calgary Flames mgmt look extremely foolish.. wow. just wow.

Florida isn't playing all that great, they are being carried by a hot goalie though. Just look at how many amazing chances the Canes had tonight, or the Leafs had during their series. A goalie getting hot makes all the difference, just look at price a couple years back, montreal had no business even making the playoffs that year but they got the finals because of a goalie.

Watch closely, subtle play by Tkachuk, puts his stick down in front of Staal's left skate when he moves up to challenge, then slides into position for the tap in OT winner. This Panthers team is playing some of the fastest hockey I've ever seen. They have drive, they are puck smart, but more importantly they do not hesitate at all, these ingredients I would say are the key to their speed. Good fight by the 'Canes but man oh man, what a way to go down the first 2 games at home.
