2014 883 I’m getting no brake lights not front or rear brake light signals. What could it be

@@valterferreira8171Hi.. first double check the brake lights are not actually stuck on. As if its a break in wire maybe under seat for example, only 1 side would be off . If its later led lights, do you have the red light on dash?. If so. My first point of call anyway would be the rear brake switch, check 2 spade terminal wires to that under heat shrink .

Hi Alchemoto, thanks a lot for this detailed vid! 👍 What year of manufacture is this Forty Eight? Or is this rear brake the same for all forty eights. Mine is 2015. My issue is the same, rear breaklight wouldn't go off. At the backside of the swingarm I found a connector which I disconnected. Now the brakelight only works with the front brake. So next thing is to dive into the little hidden connector under the rear brake caliper. Is it possible to disconnect this without disconnecting the brake hose? Hopefully it's only corrosion at this point and solved with WD40?

Hi, And thanks for watching.. It sounds like yours maybe just corrosion on the connector. They do have a sleeve over them but its still only spade connectors on the switch. My 48 is 2016 but they are all the same. You can get at the connector but it is a bit tight. Easier with pulley guard etc off. If connections are ok.. it may be worth getting a new switch. But more involved to change that out to get access. Not a bad job either way 👍

Hi guy, I have forty eight 2016 abs. I haven't brake light as well with rear brake and front break. Do you had an idea of the problem ? Good job in your video !

The front switch behind the lever works opposite. When brake lever pulled, the switch pops out. I have a feeling it is stuck in. Do you have tail lights at all ? You also need to check contacts at the rear pressure switch . It is usually opposite way round where brake lights stick on. So if none coming on I would say its front switch stuck. Try spraying into switch with electrical contact cleaner first 👍

Hi thanks for taking the time to record this. I have a very similar error (I think). Error code B2223. Rear brake switch shorted low. My brakes lights stay on. I double checked the front switch (your other vid) and found that looked to be ok. Do you know if it would be possible to disconnect this rear switch to confirm that being the problem before removing cylinder/end can? Perhaps elsewhere in the loom as it seems that the switch is well hidden behind the cylinder.

Hi, thanks for watching.. first off, sometimes your front switch might look ok but the spring inside could still be stuck, so if you disconnect the rear and lights still on you know its the front. But if error showing as rear brake, that is normally a correct error failure. I would change rear switch for cost and piece of mind. A couple of hours and your done hopefully 👍

@@ALCHEMOTO thanks for the reply buddy. I took the front handlebar assembly apart and all looks to be OK. I’ll get to work on the rear. Thanks again.
