Damn, those things dip forward and down more than I thought! And very angled downwards. Any way to pull em back at all, or would have probs with tank clearance? I'm gonna side with the other guys on here and say... apes! Just look like they'd fit the badass wasteland vibe of the bike :)

Well, another good thing about them is that, should you get tired of that riding position (which it sounds like you eventually will), you can just flip them over and they more or less become "regular" bars. They do look cool like that, though. :)

I'm debating between flipped clubmen bar or drag bars with a 2 inch bend for my magna. The buckhorn style bars kill my back after about 30 minutes and I want to be further over the front end for the twisties. I'm also going from a 12.5 to a 13.5 inch rear shock so the bike is less sluggest. It's a 500lbs bike I know It will never be a sports bike but I want it to be a little more sport touring. I am In love with the v4 and the fact I can surprise sport bike riders in a straight line
@eliofall7 жыл бұрын
hey i got bars light that. they make passenger pegs that clamp on the swing arm so you can get them farther back. then you can lay on the tank. with a tank bag or the old pillow like they did in the 60`s i did 1700 miles on my last weekend trip

Hey! Neat to see some motovlogging in familiar territory! Your Sportster makes me miss my Magna. At least I got a video on it before I sold it. lol

For sure! Looks like you're in the Winters/Dixon area? The Magnas are sweet rides, I'd buy one if I ever had the chance!
@dreadrobster49197 жыл бұрын
It was awesome, even though it only had a 100 mile range with the Jardine drag pipes, high flow air filter, and jetted to match. It's impossible to keep your hand out of the throttle of those. The only reason I sold it was because I couldn't keep up with my girlfriend... on her Ninja 250... *shame* I was in Dixon, now Fairfield. Fiarfield is MUCH cheaper. lol
@Its2loudyer2oldmotovlogs7 жыл бұрын
Those look cool on there but comfort is really a must if you like to ride and ride a lot lol Have you thought of a motocross style bar or drag bars? Just a thought with the them.. I am gonna try to do a bit of a build on my dyna but I'm still goin with at least 12 inch apes lol

I had a drag bar with a 4 inch sweep on my '07 XL883L with mid controls and a Le Pera Spoiler Seat. It was pretty comfortable. Muscling the Sportster through twisties finally sent me to the sport bike dark side though.
@KillswitchQueen7 жыл бұрын
Lol Dark side... Sometimes I wonder which side is the dark side! I still have my old drag bars so I'll try rocking those again.
@FreeRider19597 жыл бұрын
If they have a sweep (like mine did) you can roll them up and back before tightening them down to give a more upright position.

I've been wondering how it would be to be in a sport bike position on a cruiser! I used to sit back and lean over on my scooter with passenger pegs to pretend I was on a sport bike haha. I'm really curious how the handling feels for turning...easier/harder? Especially in low speed situations like u-turns and stuff I'd love to know.

Great review but I just installed these on my 2012 883 and I don't find this applies at all. Maybe since females don't have the same upper body strength? Maybe thats why you don't feel as comfortable as I do.

Strait rise Tbars with very little pullback and narrow bars work best with Harley mid controls. On my street bob I have 13" rise 2" pull back t bars running mids and it gives perfect control of the bike in the twisties
@michaelshenck95597 жыл бұрын
You might like a handlebar shaped like what was on my old R100RS. It did not pull you front near as much. Your stock cables would work and they would work great with your windshield. .

I still have my drag bars, I was thinking either trackers or find some longer risers (mine are only 5") that maybe have some curve so I'd be slightly more upright.

Hey girlie ,, please take one piece of advice i beg you ,,, please put the belt guard back on your bike,, you can get black plastic ones to fit them theme of your bike,, but as a harley mechanic i have seen many ,,many,,many broken belts because of one tiny little pebble gets in between the belt and pulley and that is that it breaks.. and that is a pain in the ass to change ,, off comes swing arm etc... so plz just put the belt guard on and the belt will probly last forever,, but one pebble and your stuck on side of the road with a broken belt... just some friendly advice do with it as you will.. be safe !!!

Throw the old 'grampa' bars back on and haul those to the swap meet. Trackers or motocross bars may be a better fit (motocross bars are typically a bit wider though). Need a wee bit more rise and pullback for that Sporty's comfort. and Zer0 F_ck$ Giv3n about what the other kids' think is cool. Almost 7K peeps think what you're doing is badass AND cool !!!

clubmans+mid sets... oh, no thank you. That's worse than drag bars. I rode a sportster that a coworker had, clubmans, rearsets, not sure what seat, and it wasn't a torture rack. Certainly more aggressive and could have benefited from some tank grips.
@dippitydoinit7 жыл бұрын
I not convinced that those bars fit your riding style. You have a touring seat so mini apes or even beach bars would be a better match. P.S. Check out my channel if you'd be so kind :)
