I took my time, 7 years building a 89 1200 into a beautiful flattracker (street tracker) and had all intentions on taking it to Flat-out weekend in Milwaukee, but I think it's to beautiful to take the chance of laying it down and wrecking it..that's my excuse 😅😅😅😅

Funny to hear you talk so humble, when I was a kid racing Mx for a dealership I thought I was the next brad lackey no one could beat me I was winning a lot of races for years, one day my mechanic showed me a XR 750 Harley he used to race well I talked him into letting me race it and did ok on short tracks but we went to a mile track and he was trying to tell me about drafting and of course I didn’t need anyone to tell me how to ride well I went out in second place was tucked in behind the leader waiting to make a move and was sling shot around him with my throttle off scared the hellout of me , couldn’t understand how I passed him not trying so you are correct there is a lot to know and learn about just going around in a circle, every one needs to try it, I went back to motocross where I belonged ha ha

Great video. I went and traded my buddy my 93 dr650 for a 96 1200 sporty. I figured, if I was going to go up in the hills and screw around on a cow of a bike I should make it something that inspired me when I was a kid. That'd be, Evil Knievel! Don't know if I'll race it but will definitely see how long I can wheelie after a year or two of practice

Hey man cool video nice to see how you transformed your sportster into a flat tracker from working man’s perspective. Great choice on the hammer performance air cleaner in my opinion. I have a sportster iron with a 1275 hammer big bore kit hammer air cleaner Andrews cams in a bunch of other stuff. Definetly a Fun little street bike. But the more I see these Homebuilt flat trackers the more I fall in love with sportsters. Hopefully someday I’ll have the money ,time and the nohow to build a really cool street tracker .Videos like these are awesome they help give us ideas and hopefully you keep us posted on your flat track journey as you get better and more skilled on the track. Keep putting out the videos man you’re definitely informative and enjoyable good luck on the track and stay safe

i just built a hooligan, spoked wheels and just basic bolt on parts. where im having issues is finding a place to ride it. im in southwest florida and would love to be able to run it at bike week one day, but i need practice on the track and some local club races first. any info on peeking into the door of "beginner" flat track is appreciated..

Find out which American Motorcycle Assoc district you are in or by. Might be #8. I know Jesse Janisch is in FL, he is a Pro flat tracker. American Flat Track. I’m in N Illinois but race mini bike(boonie) in Wisconsin.
