They are probably one of the most humble bands, that do not have ego complexes. They’re studio guys, which means they don’t like the limelight, and focus on their craft instead. Curt Smith is just a regular guy that you would hang out with. Seeing him in Psych was awesome. You know how amazing their talent is and how influential they’ve been, when a good majority of their hit songs have been redone by MAJOR label artists. They are both truly talented, and have deserved all of the success they have received over the years.

I'm a pro sound man and been a musician myself for about 15 years. Today I realized that, in this crazy world that we all live in, I haven't taken the time to listen to an entire album or live recording top to bottom in months, if not years... I remembered the old days where I used to listen to all 13 albums of The Beatles (plus Past Masters) on repeat about 10 times each minimum... no kidding... I would let each of them on the plate for 3 months and listen to the whole thing after class every day. Instead of increasing the volume, I would listen so quietly you could hear it spinning - I'm talking CDs, mind you! That's how I got ears able to hear up to 14kHz after years of live drumming. Today I found this... I closed the light... couldn't stream the image properly so I blacked out the screen... sat in my chair, got my best pair of headphones, bring the volumes down to 1-2 notches (youtube volume at about 1 third of the way) and this was enough, because great mix sounds huge without a lot of gain in your sound system or headphones at all. I forgot what it was not to had a single thought running consciously thought your head, not to look up the comments, not to say something or play or tap along the music of watch the camera work (which is quite nice)... just the sound, just the music... and they are performing for you right there in your room... the best mix I heard in years... transcend the soul... amazing!

How did the name Tears For Fears originate?
@prime8nate4 жыл бұрын
@@michaelleong1977 Apparently it was inspired by "primal therapy". John Lennon got into it before he died. It involved confronting your fears with screaming and, I guess, crying. They met the founder of the movement in the mid 80s and were really disappointed that the guy seemed to be overly commercial.

KZbin suggested this during COVID-lock down, after I had viewed Curt and Diva's unplugged version of Mad World about 50 times. I graduated from high school the year Songs from the Big Chair came out, and the Tears for Fears singles could be heard everywhere. FF to 2022 and I bought a re-issue LP of Songs... and it is just magic.This Landmark concert is every bit as magic. Hearing the back stories and the songs is a fabulous experience. I hope Spotify releases on either a physical media (Blu-ray etc) or download and includes the full material (like the Get Back documentary), including outtakes etc. That would be a great way to kill a weekend during the winter.

The fact that they annoy each other after so many years despite their fame and fortune is obvious. The fact that they are great musicians that don’t get enough mention as a unique guitarist and bass player is also obvious, and annoys me as a musician. They are complete pros. The drummer totally nails all the licks from the albums and session drummers from the records. I saw them in ‘ 90 ‘ for the Seeds of Love tour in Atlanta with Simon Phillips on drums. Oleta Adams played piano. What a band..... I’m glad they “ discovered “ her in a hotel in New Orleans performing, and flew her to London to do the album. And yes, the audio, sax player, bass, keyboard, and female vocalist are spot on. You feel like you are present in that room. Great. Long live Tears for Fears.

I thought the same. I watched the BBC concert and their live concert in Ireland.. It seems like there is still bad blood between them, as notices that Roland tries to "bring Curt in when he's in the zone" but Curt seems to me, "tolerating" Roland, so "What's the story, morning glory!" 🤷🏿♀️
