@taraduffy41184 ай бұрын
Unfortunately that’s seems to be a common scenario. Many foster parents will continually call DCFs or PD bc they are terrified of what the child, they’ve cared for and grown to love, may be going through after being returned to the bio fam only to be told “it isn’t your business” or “everything is fine or they would not have been returned to the parent(s).” Then the child ends up not being seen in months or they actually make it to the hospital only to be DOA or pass away shortly thereafter. This whole notion of reuniting family being the end goal has always seemed illogical to me, especially when they have been reported multiple times and the child(ren) are then finally removed and actually get put into a loving home where they truly begin to flourish because they are getting enough to eat, love and care so they feel safe, being kept clean, etc., then adults who are supposed to be ensuring the childs welfare stays priority one, all drop the ball from the parents and everyone involved on the state’s payroll.

From Uk. Once I worked at a national charity as an administrator. They had been receiving calls from a child who would not leave names and details. I was only working there for 3 days when the child phoned. To cut a long story short it was due to that call I took the child was rescued. What really shocked me was that the paediatrician, counsellor and social worker who had received many calls from the child did not know how to gain her trust. I was forthright with them and pointed out that if they cant communicate with vulnerable children without referencing some textbook definition of how to go about it, the only thing they were protecting was their own jobs.

@EvilIntentions2 жыл бұрын
It just makes NO SENSE to me! People have this idea that they don't "want any issues" since they live there. Okay, so when the kid is dead whats changed? Those issues vanish? There still can't be people who retaliate or have an issue with you talking on camera? Its like the second the news breaks everyone has this need to feel seen ans heard all the sudden. I saw a video on witness of Elisa Izquierdo. She didn't want her face shown, and the first thing she said is "I haven't been sleeping right since it happened.". She also mentions how every night she should hear her being abused she was thankful when it ended because she could finally get some sleep. The fact that anyone would say that and not hear themselves boggles my mind. Some people are so disappointing.

It's so sickening. They didn't care enough to speak up when the children were alive and being abused. But once they're dead and these bystanders have a camera in their face...they're telling everything. As if they want to clear their conscience or something. Look what happened to Devante Hart and his siblings. One of the neighbors had the nerve to say she didn't report the abuse because her husband told her "to stay out of it". I was so angry.

Even if I might be wrong if a child or adult is getting abused, it’s 100% worth it to make that call. In fact I’ve made calls in my 44yrs. I grew up in an abusive household myself , so being around abuse you really know the signs. Sometimes we can be wrong ,but go with your gut and stop turning a blind eye. Growing up in a mentally, physically abusive household and no one doing anything about it really messes up a child and even an adult’s. You feel like there’s no hope! So please call if you have a feeling or hear something and if your gut is saying this isn’t right it probably isn’t. My stepdad was the only dad in my life , but he was an alcoholic who was abused himself by his mother and that’s all he knew. No excuse ofc, but if someone stepped in and actually took us away I believe with all my heart he would’ve done anything to get the 6 of us back and possibly got sober. I seen his good side when he wasn’t drunk and he actually had a good heart under all that rage he had inside him… he’s gone now and he changed after we lost my brother in 2017, he ended up passing 2yrs later in 2019. This story really got my blood boiling to the point I feel sick! I have a son that’s autistic and these stories always get me the most. This poor baby was failed by way too many people and it really is upsetting hearing the people saying they knew all along…like wtf why didn’t you do anything!? Maybe he’d be here if the system didn’t fail this baby. His foster parents really sound like they was good people and my heart goes out to them, I can’t imagine how they feel. I really wish people would just do something. You can call anonymously so I just don’t understand because they sounded so sure in that news segment you showed us. Like I said I’d rather be wrong, than have this happen. That boy deserved better, that boy deserved the ones who grieved him , the foster parents. I know horror stories of foster parents but I think these ppl really wanted the best for him. RIP little one 🤍 Again, what great work you do here…telling stories of the voiceless. As I was saying I’ve been through some sh*tty stuff including SA and like I said I have a son with autism so I can really appreciate what you do. I think it’s why I’m so drawn to true crime. This literally could've been me as I was in a foster home where I was constantly getting beatings for doing nothing. The foster mother's biological son would always blame me for things, and I'd always get beatings. There was one beating, as an 8 year old, I got beat so hard that she broke a wooden broom on my right shin...leaving a laceration that's a scar. And she also, in another beating, beat a ring stuck to my finger on my right hand. I eventually got the ring unstuck and taken off finger, which also left a scar. Eventually, my biological family would take me out of there. However, I resent my biological family because I was the only one of my siblings to be placed in foster home, which was in my eyes a clear indication of me being singled out. They've always treated (and still do treat) me like an outcast, which is why I don't be around them.

That is one thing about NYC, people love to mind their business. This is crazy. Can you do the story on the woman who was SA'ed outside a housing project. Everyone heard but NO ONE called 911. That's an urban tale that i heard as a child but the way you're telling this story, I know it has to be true.

i think you’re referring to the case of Kitty Genovese, she was attacked outside of her apartment complex in NYC and many of her neighbors reported hearing her crying for help but no one called for help, because of this her attacker had actually come back a second time and continued his attack on her…

@@lisabeaver2919 i was at an Aldi, and heard all this wailing coming from the back of the store. I went beck there, only to discover a mom slapping this little boy over and over. I pleaded with her to stop the abuse. To which she told me to F*ck off. And so I went to an attendant at an aisle who called the manager. Both manager and I went back to the situation. So i said he'd better call the police, which he didn't, saying that it was a familial situation and he didn't want to touch it. and so, i called the police. but by the time they arrived, the mom had rushed out of the store. so, the only thing I had left to do was give the police the description of the mom and child. it's so sad that people are reluctant to speak out and call for help in these cases. a lot of times it comes from a mindset of "not my place to interfere" and many other ideas such as not wanting to "momshame" or fear of retaliation or fear of making a child's situation worse. at the same time, there are many instances of people alerting the proper authorities and nothing being done either way. i feel like it's a lose-lose situation for many people. those who don't help are complacent. those who do help (and nothing comes of it) risk making a situation worse for a child. my perspective is to speak up if you see something like this. bystander syndrome kills so many people

The kid that was laced looked her dead in the eyes and told her to put it down and don’t do that! He said she is trying to help us. I’ll never forget that moment. But i understand why folks mind their business, because sometimes it harms you. I would help over and over again if i could. It’s sad and we have to get back to community.

A promise to all the children out there in the world from me. If I so much as feel a slight discomfort in the way a child cries or a parent is yelling at their child, and I hear it, I'm calling the cops. Point blank and period. I'm sick of this s#i*! It stops with US, people that are aware of these situations. We have all seen too much to turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to their crying pleas for help. I feel like coming out of my skin with rage when I hear and see these things. From these stories on this channel to the Turmpine children's case and all others in between. It STOPS with all of us that are old enough to respond to these situations. If something doesn't seem right or feel right. CALL!! If a child looks too skinny, CALL!! It can save a life. We don't know. It can be the difference between life and death. For every child that had their innocent, precious lives taken through these senseless act, are with God in heaven, living an everlasting, joyful life. #Fight #Thegoodfight #Forhelplesschildren
