Discernment is so essential in these times. The waters are being muddied for many reasons. That is why we are given the gift of discernment. Listening to the still small voice of the Spirit is the key. Our heart is the second witness.

It took me many years to feel this way, but when someone intentionally treats another in a negative way, they are hurting themselves. They will see their actions in their life review when judgement is made. Personally, I like making people happy and helping those who have problems or are in need. Thank you for sharing this topic, John. Being happy and kind feels so much better. 🤍🕊️

Thanks, John, the "faith" of these fearful christians is pretty flimsy, to such an extent that they must dig in, and fight when no challenge has been given. In a casual conversation at a table, they would be all wound up tight, afraid of anything that raises legitimate questions regarding their dogma. Their faith is very , very thin. One who is secure, fears no questions, situations, that would bring their faith into doubt. So they attack, accuse, slander anyone that they fear, knowing they themselves could never debate them at all. They do not have the means of securely answering honest questions about their faith. Love always shows up secure, never attacking, nor accusing. Love and peace , bro John.

To be honest, I have extreme anger issues. I’m generally non-judge mental, but my temper can be a problem when it’s triggered. It’s something I’ve had to work on for most of my life. I was “raised” Roman Catholic, claimed at 16-17 in Catholic school that I was an atheist, and then maybe around 18 or 20 started warming up to the idea of God. But I’ve never felt compelled to follow any religion. I’ve had friends of all different beliefs, none more judgmental of my belief in God than Christians. Again, I feel no compulsion to follow any specific religion or any dogma/holy book. I pray for guidance and try to listen to my conscience. It’s hard…but I’ve learned to begin accepting other people’s beliefs over the years…even the ones who believe I’m going to hell. When they ask what I believe, I usually say that I believe that we will all eventually find heaven in our own time, and that I don’t believe that God punishes, we only punish ourselves. Whether in this life or the next.

"I have extreme anger issues." is a choice. Make a different choice for a different outcome.
@andrewwabik51252 ай бұрын
@@johnofnew uhm, it’s pretty automatic. But I’ve been choosing to address and take responsibility for it. I agree with it being a choice in that by saying it…I’m putting it out in the universe. It’s a pattern I’ve had since childhood. Otherwise, what do you mean by choice?

Nice message today, John. I'd be interested in your thoughts about the Urantia Book. Specifically, the later 1/2 The Life and Times of Jesus Christ. Of course, the origins of the material come into question. But it's always more important before judging keep an open and and see how the information resonates with you. And thus if it produces "Good Fruit " in your life then it is truely Good. That must always be the measure.❤

Thank you for sharing your story. I am saddened that gentle and kind souls attract certain, shall we say 'aggressive' types. My opinion--and experience--is that religious zealots are, sadly, some of the worst, as you've described. Jesus was not a fan of hypocrites, as you know. I would love to be a fly on the wall (or on the gate of Heaven) to see how they will justify their behavior to God . . . Yes, bitter fruit . . . and bitter roots. You're right, of course . . . we can only pray for them and wish them well. They are creating their own Hell and don't know it. Thanks again for your great insight and content!

They won'y have to justify it. Just experience it for greater awareness

@@johnofnew That's for sure! And not to be argumentative, but I also wonder about how one's beliefs shape one's reality. So, is it possible that one's disbelief in an afterlife in Heaven (or whatever place one thinks they will end up) will manifest out of one's own doing? If I've done horrible things in my life and believe that I deserve it and will go to hell, is it possible that I end up there after death? Or at least lose some part of themselves? We hear how some NDEs think they go to Heaven, while others end up in a very scary place . . . I'm no Bible historian by any stretch, but I'm wondering why Jesus or Jeshua (as far as I know) said many times that our beliefs will pretty much determine our fate. I'm thinking of a quote: (Mark 9:23) “'If you can'?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” (John 11:25-26) Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.

Thank you John for your insight. When I was going to church as a child, we learned WWJD? to help us make good decisions. I don't see that approach much anymore, but I still think it's a wonderful tool. Would Jesus tell someone they're going to hell, or were the anti-christ, etc.? Not from what I've read about him. Anyway, enjoy your day.

Great video. I read through the New Testament for the first time this year (I really appreciate your perspectives on a lot of things while doing so). I couldn't help but wonder in Matthew 24: 5 when Jesus said "Many will come in my name" was he foreseeing the rise of Christianity and the twisting/misunderstanding of his teachings by this religious group? As you mention, it's the most deadly religion in the world historically. That's pretty sour fruit.
@johnofnew2 ай бұрын
You must remember the book of Matthew is a book written 70 to 200 years after the crucifixion. There is nothing in the Bible that isn't hearsay and all of the books were written with a messianic agenda. I personally do not believe he was prophesying anything.

@johnofnew2 ай бұрын
I think they misinterpret the verse. To be "born again" means set down your past issues, and fearful experiences and come back to a clean slate and fill it with love.
@alcarden752 ай бұрын
As I now understand it, “born again” is a misinterpretation of the Greek word anothen meaning born from above. In essence Jeshua wasn’t telling Nicodemus he needed to be born again. He was telling him the reason you were able to recognize that I came from God was because you were born from above to begin with. Don’t take my word for it ask the Spirit.

Oh John! I have a question, Jesus says "I have not come to abolish the law" what do you make of this? I know I shouldn't rely on you but I just want to see your opinion. Matthew 5:17-18, as part of His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished."

There is nothing in the Bible that isn't hearsay and all of the books were written with a messianic agenda.
