I apply some Adam's Polishes Car Shampoo with a foam gun and attempt a spot free rinse with distilled water and the Worx Hydroshot.

I didn't see this video (or any like it) before I bought the Power Shot to use with distilled water to rinse my vehicle. I guess great minds think alike. And I've found the exact same thing as others have - use hose water to rinse the soap off first, and then follow with the hydroshot and distilled water to chase the hose water off. Otherwise it takes way too much distilled water. It's great having the vehicle dry on its own - and no spots!

townhall05446 Thanks! I agree, makes cleaning your vehicle a much better experience not having to worry about water spots.

Same problem I ran into, definitely better to rinse with hose water first, then spotfree with hydroshot.

I bought the Hydroshot solely for winter washes in.my garage and engine degreasing/rinsing. During warm weather I pressure wash the car. Good video though.Powershot has its place.

You rinse it first with reg water then use the distilled water so you don’t waste it.
@leemoknows7 жыл бұрын
Rueben Aguirre Yup, with the garden hose. When I use my foam gun, there is so much extra suds that end up just sitting under the car. If I pre-rinse, I takes about 3 gallons to follow up with distilled water with the Hydroshot.

It beats using a hand pump garden sprayer if your washing in garage in cold weather or if you live in an apartment or somewhere where water access outside or restricted. is difficult

I need to get some extra hose for they HYDRO thats shorter (about 8-9 feet should be enough), I find the long hose that comes with it to be very cumbersome. I used my Hydro to Rinse my car; decided not to do it again, took too much time. However if you must use it, I recommend getting a turbo nozzle (I got one from the Home Depot, laid that water down better than the nozzle that comes with it). Also instead of foaming with "Regular Car Soap", use some Rinse-less wash. The Rinse-less wash will do the same as the soap (in that it lifts up the dirt) and it is easier to rinse compared to "regular" car soap.

Thanks for the tips! I'll checkout our local Home Depot. I've been wanting to buy the little bottle accessory too. Maybe they have it. I believe it's sold out on the Worx website. Yes, that hose like to twist up pretty easily. Since it takes so long to rinse, I decided to rinse with the garden hose, the follow up with the Hydroshot to get the hard water off. Maybe that turbo nozzle will do the trick. 👍🏼

I finally received my soap bottle accessory yesterday LOL. I ordered that thing months ago at the beginning of August. I'm not even sure I'll get to use it since I'll be putting my car in winter hibernation soon. There must have been a major amount of orders for those things haha.

Love the mach! Cant wait for the next mach model to come. Just got a worx hydroshot and the 20v turbine leaf blower to clean the fresh snow off the car since it is my DD. I plan on using the bottle attachment with distilled water to clean the salt off. Might need to switch to bucket + hose due to needing more water than what 1 or 2 2litter bottles can hold.

tony chen Thanks! That’s a great idea. I’ll have to try using it on my wife’s car to see how well it works. Seems like it would be great for that.

How do you like the soap attachment to the hydroshot vs the adams foam gun? Do you still prefer to wash your car with the hydroshot vs garden hose or another method? Nice mustang :)
@leemoknows7 жыл бұрын
Mony Mam Thanks! I haven’t had a chance to try out the soap attachment with my Hydroshot just yet. It was on back order and I didn’t get it in time before I put my car in hibernation for the winter. I’ll be trying it out here in a few weeks if the weather changes with Spring. The garden hose certainly rinses a car off faster. I started using the garden hose to rinse the soap off quickly, then follow-up with the Hydroshot and distilled water to keep the water spots away. It probably added about 10-15 extra minutes to total wash time.

The pressure from the Hydroshot looks fairly low, something similar to a garden hose pressure. Is there a noticeable pressure difference when using the Hydroshot. Thanks
@leemoknows6 жыл бұрын
Eddie Runcorn I agree, very similar. It could be a bit higher than in some areas, or perhaps with an older house with smaller sized water lines. The agitation from Hydroshot helps, much like a really fancy nozzle on a garden hose would. It’s definitely not on a typical pressure washer level, that’s for sure. I’ve read that the Hydroshot has a higher output when connected directly to a garden hose, but I have not tried that yet.

Where did you get your distilled water? Like out a gallon jug?
@leemoknows7 жыл бұрын
Jordan Friar Yup, bought several gallon jugs from a super Target. It was under $2 each. The local CVS pharmacy was much more expensive.

Bought 3 gallons of distilled at WM yesterday. .80/gallon.

How many gallons of water was required to wash all of the soap from your vehicle? I just bought the hydroshot. Thank you.
@leemoknows7 жыл бұрын
When I rinsed mine completely with the Hydroshot and distilled water, it took almost 5 gallons. What I've been doing since then is doing a quick rinse with the garden hose to get rid of the suds, then follow up with the Hydroshot to keep away the water spots. That has been taking about 2.5 gallons. That includes the wheels.

that pressure seems too low to rinse a car. what say you?
@leemoknows6 жыл бұрын
R Yup, I agree. I rinse first with the garden hose, then follow up rinsing with distilled water from the Hydroshot to keep the water spots away. It’s just too low of pressure and would take too much distilled water to do it all with the Hydroshot.
