Give it a go... main advice though - go for more choppy guys instead of heavily armoured ones if you can. It makes the game far more interesting as the clash of heavy units is a lot of dice and nothing happening.

Loving this series, currently working on an Ancient British based upon my local tribe the Damnonii. Having watched your BatReps definitely going to maximise my heroes and field some Skyclad, dudes on ponies too to represent the local tribe more fully and maybe some slingers.

Skyclas and slingers are probably more 'meta' so you will probably do well with them.

Loved it. A great game to have on while painting. Loved the banter between you two. lol. A lot less bad words and f bombs than when me and my friends play which is commendable.

Huge appeal to us too - you can get playing with 30 models in a period you otherwise just can't engage with. Have you looked at Mortal Gods? It isn't a nad game at all, and even lower model count.

Great battle, I think your report shows why the Romans usually had some auxiliaries with them! That 2:1 charge can be fatal. I keep thinking the Romans get some bonus from their shields?

With 10 models.... Opossed to my 8... They gain shield wall which is -1 to the opponents melee check.... Need to bolster my dudes me thinks.

When the heroes get taken out of action, we then have to roll to see what happens to them.... Could be a scratch..... Could be deaded......... Or a bad back.

Injury roll in the campaign phase - might die, might lsoe an arm - probably fine... we shall see!

Campaign systems have this issue, sometimes battles in those early phases are very short, but it was a laugh. Now to paint more models for the next game!

I think JB was taken in by the notion this is a historical unit size, but yeah - probably make more sense if he starts up-sizing the units.
