Spray Day…But It Didn’t Go So Smooth :(

I need some magic pills to pay more attention and use my brain more lol. It was a rough time, but I'm so glad it all worked out in the end. Thanks for continuing to watch my journey here. I do appreciate it! God bless!

I have same sprayer as yours and had to replace the filter screen at the bottom after the 2nd season. You can pull that elbow hose out and check it. Mine was clogged up with residues of N-Ext products that I could not clean up. I also noticed that the replacement filter that I ordered had a bigger mesh size, so it should last longer this time.

I think all of us DIYers have experienced this on some level. I just had to upgrade my sprayer (better sprayer for less than the prior bad one) and I’m now going to start mixing everything in a 5 gal bucket first and then slowly pour into the backpack sprayer with the lid-filter on to catch anything that tries to sneak in. I too found that I caused damage to my old sprayer from repeatedly hitting the bottom with my drill-bit mixer. Now I’ll be mixing in the bucket to avoid all that trouble. Might take a couple of extra minutes on the front end but should make life much easier in the long run!

I did the same thing with the pick up tube. When I first got it and i was like why is this thing not using all the product? The n when i was done i looked and yep it was turned. Thanks for the tip on Sea K

I’m about to spray Cal-Tide this weekend, does it have to be water in with rain? How long before rain if not? I can’t find too much info on it other than you and Pete’s videos. Thank you!

Look closely on the bottle label. I believe you can water it in if you don’t use natural adjuvant. Label on it should say.

My sprayer has a mesh screen insert that goes inside the top opening. I learned the hard way that I must always use that or it will most likely clog. Does that sprayer not have a screen? If not, you may be able to use something like cheesecloth to strain it. Or just manually put some kind of mesh on it while pouring in.

It was massive pieces of Kelp. No sprayer could have not sucked that up and stopped the flow. It was something ignorant I should have caught by my eye and didn’t.

I like RGS and Humic 12. I’m kind of skeptical when it comes to hydrotain. It seems like increased moisture could lead to more disease. Especially with the humidity starting to set in.

Yes sir. Just watch for clumping! Might wanna use the filter if your at the bottom of a jug of product, but yes they mix just fine.
