Those 5500 rps really hose on the clear nice job! What were your gun settings for the clear?

Thank you! They definitely have a nice flow. Clear setting were 30 psi fluid and fan both wide open.

Beautiful job on the clear Mick you always make it look so easy! I was using my Sata X5500 1.2 I RP for clear this morning, I have the 1.3 I RP tip set for it as well but I'm on the fence as to which gives the flattest glass finish but the 1.2 seems to atomise the clear a little finer. Do you have a preference on the tip sizes for your 5500? 🙏🙏👍 thanks, John UK

1.2 will definitely atomize finer. Both of my Sata clearcoat guns are 1.3. I prefer the bigger tip for clearcoat. Allows more flow. I like to move a bit faster. 1.2 is a bit slow for me when clearing. My Sata I base with is a 1.2. All my other brand base guns are 1.3 and my Iwata supernova I clear with is a 1.4. Sata tip sizes seem to be a bit bigger than other brands. My Sata 1.3 looks about the same size and my supernova 1.4.

Bad ass finish 👍🏻. For your slim kombat do you use it for all colors or certain ones and what psi do you spray your clear in?

Thank you! I use the slim kombat for all color metallics and pearls. The only thing I don’t run through it is solids. For clearcoat it depends what gun I am using. Kiwami I spray around 24. Sata and supernova I spray clear at 30.

I use Anest Iwata Kiwami4 for sealer. 1.3 tip.
