Finally getting some much needed spraying done and broke the boom on the sprayer. Got it all fixed and all the corn ground is covered.

Your like me, I wait for the wind to be as calm as possible to spray. Not like the big boys, they spray when ever they can because they have too! good luck with your crop this season!

Really enjoy your videos. I started watching when you were on before. Glad your back. Reminds me of helping my uncle farm close to 500 acres back in the 70’s. Big tractor was a Minneapolis Moline M670 Super LP gas for the tillage work and planted with a Farmall M and 4 row wide planter. I remember he had a sprayer almost ide

Your not alone, here in southwest Iowa the corn went in the ground near perfect. Then cold and wet and no one went with any pre-plant herbicide and things got ugly.
@Oliver66FarmBoy4 жыл бұрын
Same here. A lot of fields were a mess for a while.

From what I can tell, the guys here in Arkansas have been having pretty good luck with the corn (once they were able to get it in the ground that is). Whats funny is that planting corn in this area was almost unheard of until relatively recently. Its pretty much all rice, cotton, soybeans and milo around here.
@Oliver66FarmBoy4 жыл бұрын
New hybrid technology has put corn in a lot of areas that would have never been heard of before. With yields you never would have been able to get.

Those welds still look good my man. Your corn, I see what you saying about it being not good. Ours needs some rain, it's dry. 500 gallon works nice. Ours is an old 500gal that started it's life as a truck mount, then a nieghbour made it in to a single axle trailer with I think 14x22inch tires oppose to tandem axles on most 500 gallon sprayers it's age.
@Oliver66FarmBoy4 жыл бұрын
My buddy’s dad has the sprayer I really want. 500 gallon Demco on walking tandems with a 45 foot suspended boom.
@ghenry854 жыл бұрын
@@Oliver66FarmBoy That sounds good. I don't know if tandems are better or worse than big singles. Tramp down a bit more but it may float better.

If you get a chance, I’m curious to see how that field looks a week from now. Hope it turns out better than you’re expecting, however even on camera it was pretty obvious Mother Nature hasn’t been kind to it.

G'day mate sorry to see the corn field like that i now how hard you worked to plant it. I know why you can't tell us what's in the sprayer tank it was the KFC secret herbs and spices 😁😋

I share your frustration buddy, things don't always go the way you want, someone once told Me that it doesn't matter what make the farm equipment is, shit breakdown, I'm in the middle of mowing my yard with my John Deere X380 that's what's I'm doing
@robmiller29194 жыл бұрын
A good cultivator set tight could clean that up.
@Oliver66FarmBoy4 жыл бұрын
Hard to cultivate when you have 14 inch tall corn mixed with corn that isn’t out of the ground yet. And a cultivator won’t get marestail once it’s established. It will just make it angry.

Try to mount some sort of shocks on the booms to help soften the bouncing, even tho it's a cheap sprayer might help, my top air sprayer has them an they really help the booms just float!
@Oliver66FarmBoy4 жыл бұрын
The booms are spring mounted.

@@Oliver66FarmBoy o I suppose, didn't think of that, them older ones were that way, remembering back my old 3pt one was that way also. If I remember the lite weight booms springs an rough fields really make them move!

I have found that most of the cordless power tools out there today are weaker than strained cat piss. We are so dry here i tried to do some dozer work and ended up wearing more dirt home on me than i pushed, very dry here in kansas.
