I've always been told that I have flat feet and that I need to wear orthotics, so I did all through my childhood. I came across information about natural foot care so about a year ago so I ditched my supportive shoes and orthotics. My feet always got tired at first but now my feet have never been stronger. I no longer get foot and back pain after walking and hiking. This information has positively impacted my life more than i could ever hope. I always thought I would never get rid of my foot problems. I hope this information reaches more people.

Very interesting information. I am 46 and have always had flat feet, but unlike traditional theories - I have been a distance runner, competitive soccer player and 25 years in Taekwondo. I had heard that having loose or more flexible joints (ligaments) allowed less stress in my knees or hips, which might otherwise be a negative effect of the rolled-in flat foot. Along with you other video on Hallux Limitus (which I had due to damage from Taekwondo) I will begin looking into your products for recent pain of large toe knuckle.

Just wanted to add that this situation has been going on for the past two yes and that my feet are not rigid to the touch but I do have problems with walking whether I am barefoot or in flat footwear with wide for space.

so if i wanna buy running shoes, should I aim for a shoe that is flat and close to a minimalist running shoe or go for something with more support but alongside i do exercises to strengthen the feet?

I have mild bunions and believe I overpronate. I’ve been experiencing pain and soreness in my arch and believe my arches are quite low. Could this be acquired flatfoot? I feel quite concerned about it.

I have Achilles tendonitis from dropping to zero drop shoes too fast. Should I go to a 6mm, 8mm etc until it's gone, then drop in increments? Ie 8mm to 4mm to 0? All while doing strengthening foot and tibialis anterior exercises? I have flat feet causing Achilles to angle down under the ankle. Thanks

Hi Chris, thanks for checking out the video! It could be, but it could also be a few other things. We encourage you to check in with a general practitioner for a physical exam to get the best possible care.

If adults start wearing wide flat shoes now, will their feet correct themselves overtime back to how they were before wearing improper footwear? Specifically talking about people that don’t have serious foot problems, but are on their way to having them.

A lot of people are definitely able to reverse or prevent developing issues through the use of natural footwear. The body has amazing regenerative capabilities--we just need to allow it to use those capabilities!

My friend was wearing Vivo shoes for a while and his heel started to hurt a lot after a few months of wearing those shoes. He won’t wear them anymore. Any idea why his heel would start hurting? He has flat feet.

Without proper transitioning, foot strengthening, and understanding of your foot mechanics in a shoe like Vivobarefoot there can much discomfort and even injury. We always encourage patients to go slowly and treat your foot as any other muscle group.
