Bet that trucker is glad those duals didn’t depart going down the highway but I am guessing they were on the ditch side anyway. Happy Canada Day everyone, half of 2023 in now in the rear view mirror! I was not surprised at all to see your Mom on a bike. Hope her garden is doing well.

Back in the early 90's I had a semi break a hub and brake assembly in front of me on the highway heading down a steep grade somewhere in the southwest. The wheels shot off the road into woods but one of the break shoes stayed on the highway bouncing all over. I was on a motorcycle and tried to dodge it and luckily did with my tires but it bounced just right and just caught the corner, blowing up my cast aluminum oil pan. A couple friends and a local helped me get it fixed and running again. Ahhh, memories of when you survived lol

The spindle nut backed off and is why duels came off the trailer. The company was very lucky they came off in your yard and not going at highway speed down the road . Lots of people killed when loose wheels hit other vehicles .

If you drive on the soft hose you can squeeze manure back towards the pit. Little quicker than lifting the hose.

When I was a young man, one of the coolest experiences I had when I was 11 years old and I would go and milk my cows by hand, and then come back from the barn with pails of milk. I would always sneak 1 quart of milk for myself before I got back to the house . When I was 12 I grew 1 foot in one year .

Had a set of duals on one of the tandems on the back of a heavily-loaded 48 ft box trailer come off on me once. It happened around 2am and so fortunately there was hardly any traffic on the rural interstate because if it had been heavy daytime traffic someone could have gotten hit by the duals and either badly injured or killed. It was completely black out so I didn't even know it until I stopped for coffee at the next truckstop. Had a roadside service come out and they chained up the axle on that side and then I eased her on the rest of the 230 miles to the terminal.

It would be an interesting video to review your family's decision tree of forage totals and whether you will need to start buying hay be it alfalfa or other options. Buy hay early or hope the greater hay producing areas produce enough hay to drive prices down over time. Interesting to hear how your family walks through these difficult decisions. Propose delay video until after you plan have implemented any early hay purchase plans.

I would have suggested putting a roof over your pit to reduce rain and snow melt but I am guess it does not pay to do that
@cindifischer6919 Жыл бұрын
This was done in California, USA on large manure pits. May be done in other parts of the USA but I'm not aware but I know they do it in California.
@timothymbonham4453 Жыл бұрын
If they had spare money to build roofs, it would be a smarter investment to put them over the outside corrals where half their cattle live. Keeping the cows comfortable is more important than the manure pit.
@sammathias3498 Жыл бұрын
Why aren't you all smokey there? Ohio in the USA is horrible 😢😢
@timothymbonham4453 Жыл бұрын
I believe the fires are to the west of them, and the winds are blowing the smoke south into the US before it gets to them. Then the US winds blow it east.
@darrendimitroff4988 Жыл бұрын
Your smoke is coming from Quebec,this is a lot further to the west , the forest fire situation isn’t as bad, but it’s hot and dry in Saskatchewan now so the fires north of here will be starting up I’m sure
