Good morning, Winter is a good time for a drought if you ask me . Spring rain will replenish the soil .

Except for farmers in the southern and central plains that are sowing winter wheat in extremely dry soil. They need rain very soon.

Wheat basis was 90 cents and then the wheat Talley came and it quickly went to a 1.10. the prices went down but the basis didn't follow. Pretty typical for us.

Hi guys! The demand of corn in Mexico although isn’t as huge as china’s, is really interesting. An average Mexican person alone consumes 2.2 pounds of corn tortillas per day and the price for those 2.2 pounds can go between $1.5 and $2 dollars. There’s a huge discrepancy between the commodity price and the price of the product. Is not fair for farmers that corn is just barely at $4 level.

To me it means someone is making a lot of money….. and right now it’s not the producer.

Probably those who have used arbitrage to trade in the world currencies(keeping the price beat down as they do in gold/silver) needing the grain to fill the contracts. When the grain isn't available either the price goes way up or they call force majeur which will also drive the prices up. Watch out if the USDA numbers are proven wrong not only on this years crops but the previous YEARS. Dangerous situation.

@@HillCountry11…….yes, the “smoke & mirrors” manipulation is more likely the culprit? float the fake rumor of one “caught” keeps the farmers selling the nearby on the cheap

The river terminal paying the best around here, sounds like big money knows something we don't.

If the elevators are full, as we hear to overflow, you would think they would be shipping it to the river.. Not sure how it is in your area crop wise, but if things are so great as we hear the grain could be sourced from other areas. Something smells.

We in general aviation don't need ethanol in our avgas. Ethanol isn't as stable nor doesn't last like avgas does.

Is it to dry to plant wheat in IL and IN ?
@kevinnoah-i4o3 күн бұрын
Dry as a dog in Northern Missouri.
@tomtibbits44233 күн бұрын
Probably not too dry there, but it might lose less money to switch it to corn or soybeans. I know the wheat I planted has a new crop contract at over a $1 under cost of production., corn and soybeans are a closer to cost and grain sorghum might have a slight profit.

Tariff the imported cooking oils/biofuels until US production in more in balance with demand. This is an age old problem of matching yearly production with demand and imports. Impact on price is obvious.
