SPRING 2023 COHO SALMON FISHING(Lake Michigan)

What is going on guys today we are doing something a little different, and by that I mean we are going for some salmon. We will be using worms, and spinners to target these fish with light tackle. I would keep the braid just tie a Fluroleader! You’ll be able to cast out further with the braid.

There is parking all around the shoreline which you can use!

There are plenty of places to park. Just gotta look for it with google maps and driving around. Calumet Park has plenty of parking and a short walk.

Almost any short side is good honestly, take your pick wherever is closest to you but it shouldn't be too hard to find a good spot.

I was at the 87th Slip last week and honesty, I could see clear to the bottom and there weren't any fish there, at least that we're noticeable. I was alone and only one other guy showed up and we both threw our bait right by the stone wall where they were schooled up and nothing. I moved down but no luck and I was throwing live worms. Seems like they moved on for now and right now it's looking like, cohos and stealheads are hot. I've had no luck yet but the day I went to fish, the wind wouldn't let me cast very far and I was competing with folks with powerlines. I will return, and this was at Calumet Park by the boat launch.

I went to Lake Michigan with my new wife, 4 "educated gentlemen" Approached us a they kindly advised me how much they appreciated my wife's (donkey). At lake Michigan in Illinois it is completely illegal to arm/defend yourself if robbed, I'm moving to Florida where it is legal to defend your life, as a matter of fact you can open carry now while fishing, Ive seen deaths at the lake many many times here in lib town.
