I absolutely applaud your consistent message and encouragement, Alyssa, to wear what you want to wear. She's revitalized a necessary & wise drive to 🛍️ shop our own closets with her forward fashion thinking, clever analysis, & creative style exercises. 😉In the same quandary. Love layering too, but live in a🌡️hot desert Valley that traps triple digit heat in our endless Summers🥵. We may start to chill (60s-70s) by late Autumn🍂. If lucky, we actually experience some cold in Winter (30s-50s). 😁Feels glorious!!! It was a wet 🌧️ year for my drought ridden Golden State🥳. Recently we had historic snow ❄️ storms that blanketed us in parts from North to South & East to West 🎉. 🌨️ We even got a few fab flakes drop in my hillside LA community. ✨Quite miraculous... even when it melts after touching the ground. 🤞Don't wanna jinx it, but our last several Springs have been blessedly cool too (i.e., 60s-80s by day☀️ + 40s-50s by night🌙). 🙏Hoping for more of the same this year. 🙊 Don't care what global warming alarmists say, drought cycles 🔄 have always been a part of our norm. Growing up here, it wasn't unusual to have heatwaves on our major holidays (🦃🎄🐰). Own a few actual Winter 🥶 coats, a handful of jumpers & long sleeve tops, and a couple of tweed blazers & wool trousers. Unless 🧳traveling🛫, those beautiful items rarely get out in rotation 🔁. It just doesn't make sense to 💲invest in clothing that doesn't get a lot of wear. I live in skirts, skorts, & dresses once it starts to warm🌞. 👌Now is our perfect time for blazers, trousers, & turtlenecks. Got 👐pat down by 🛃security the other day. The guard blurted out rather shocked😮: "You're wearing three jackets!" "Yes, I am😃." She didn't know how thrilled it made me! A black trench, a black & white houndstooth blazer, & a red zippered hoodie. It was raining☔ after all. 🧢Know people all over the planet talk trash🗑️ about athleisure〰️but jackets, thermals, tees, & joggers in moisture wicking💧 fabric is absolutely game changing🎯! Great video as always. I dont like showing midrift at all, but how you can “fake” that is by using a “skintone” belt. So color of belt as close to your own skintone as possible, and sleek, pref half-mat. It tricks the eye to think it’s skin, while it’s a belt. You get the break of colors and still stay modest 😊

I adored this format of the trends video!! Silhouette and drape, quality and texture of fabric are, to me, some of the most important aspects of style so this breakdown works for me. And I love that you model the examples! Indeed, little need to shop :). I really love the maxi skirt incarnation this year though, this silhouette elongates 160cm people like myself, unlike fuller silhouettes, so I have purchased two, but I'll still be wearing them for many seasons to come!!

Loved today's look at specific runways shows - especially the ones that bucked some of the more reported-on trends for easter egg colours.....The idea that "anything goes" could seem a bit chaotic, but to me it's absolutely empowering and *finally* puts some control in the consumer's hands. I've never understood in the past why designers would want to lock into a single look/silhouette/colour palette. No matter how gorgeous there'll always be a mass of women who won't suit it and perhaps won't buy it. I loved Max Mara and Bottega Veneta too... was also great (mwahahaha) to see skinny jeans at Celine because I"m sure as shooting not packing mine away 🙂

I like skinny jeans too. Mud, sand, sea and my neighbour's dog feature pretty strongly in my life, so I want something which can easily be worn inside boots without getting soaked and grotty.

Such a fun video, Alyssa. Will you be wearing the looks that you presented? I have a question: I noticed that the length of your trousers are quite long. I just purchased a pair of black linen trousers that need to be hemmed because I am only 5'1. Granted, they are a petite sizing, but they are still quite long. What length would you recommend as a petite. The trousers are loose fitting throughout. I will be wearing mostly flat sandals and/or loafers and ballet flats. Thanks for your inspiration.

I hope so!! Weather permitting...the length of your pant will depend mostly on your shoes and your own personal preference! - i would bring them with you and make sure they're about a quarter/half inch off the ground but your seamstress/tailor will know! Bring your lowest AND highest shoes to find the bestlength for both.
