Hola Mark, thanks for thus really good true words about this special tobaccos. This year I don't bought me no one of this "Easter Tobaccos". At first this rare aromas and second the high prices fir bad tobaccos. A good aromatic from Vsuen is the Grandpa's Blend N°11 (Caramel), but the Dragon is s very good aromatic too. I have it too some times in my bar. I understand you that you like it. Have a nice Ester Monday. We here in Spain have only Easter Sunday snd the Monday is a normal day. Best wishes from the 🌞🏝. You know what I’ve never understood…why are there not more varieties of alcohol topped blends? Like there are a million rum and whiskey blends. But why not a port wine blend? Why not a Hefeweizen blend? A nice bright Virginia/Hefeweizen flake perhaps? What about a malt beer aged burley flake? I’d much sooner try some of those than these relentless offerings of boysenberry, blood orange, elderflower, grapefruit etc. Great to hear from you again mark! Interested to hear whatever that HU news was about.

Spring is in the air! We still have a few feet of snow on the ground here in Northern Minnesota, USA, but, it’s supposed to get into the 50’s & 60’s F here starting tomorrow yay! Been wanting to find an aro blend I can enjoy, most are that chemical taste I can’t get past. I’m curious to try that Dragon Flake now, we do have that over here I see. Been enjoying a new found blend called “The Beast” by C&D, it’s 51% Perique, Red Virginias, Black Cav, soaked in Rum for 7 days. It’s amazing! Moin. great vid as always. I always find those marketing texts on the packages very tiresome and cringy. I'm also not sure why some tobacco makers think of spring and H.Easter when smelling watermelon and pommegranate. As I think they are typically high-summer fruits. I associate spring with the delicate scent of blossoming trees, pansies, magnolia, broom, daffodils etc. and indeed eierlikör and advocaat with whipped cream. I do wonder what scents their summer tobaccos will have....... glühwein, zimtsterne, marzipan, bratapfel and fichtennadel perhaps 🤣 What a lovely ending of the vid with the bells ringing. A chemical hit and burnt rubber! 😆 This is why I moved away from aromatics, unfortunately. There is a really good pure cavendish I still smoke sometimes, which was the one I smoked the most when I first started pipe smoking. I don't know if Lane produces it in America, but I got it from a store in the southern US. It tastes like vanilla and chocolate to me and the flavour doesn't diminish. It also doesn't bite. Great tobacco. I would like to send you some to try and I promise I won't send any Latakia haha.

Hi Mark, I didn't ask for Easter tobaccos😁. I honestly have to admit that I no longer like the Kohlhase tobaccos of the last two or three years. but emphasize that there are still plenty of old Kohlhase tobaccos that are very good. I'm just thinking of various house mixes from Falkum. With the Vauen Summer Blend, I seriously wonder whether it is the summer tobacco produced by Kohlhase 4 or 5 years ago. It was also flavored with watermelon and tasted very realistic. I'll be in Bremen next week. First it goes to the Kunsthalle, then to Schnoor and of course to Ronnie. Hi Mark A beautiful Spring morning in Bremen! If people will smoke Captain Black Grape they will smoke anything I like your theory of the use of vaper flavors in pipe tobacco. Some research to be done there. Maybe they use these fruity flavors in Spring and Easter blends so as not to offend relatives at Easter dinner. Do any of your students smoke a pipe? Have you ever introduced any of them to pipe smoking , or do they even know that you are a pipe smoker? Another great video.

I think it’s called “limited edition” because it’s supposed to be a fun thing to celebrate the time of year, colorful tin art with a blast of flavor and aroma right in your face - Mark you take it far too serious I think - I enjoy the limited editions, but in the U.S you can’t buy anything you showed us anyway - non is available here. Think of it as a suspension from serious tobacco review and just have fun with it - No one expects limited editions to win tobacco blending prizes. I think K&K does a great job with them and wish they were in the U.S - BTW, Dragon Blend is probably great - I can only get Dragon Flake here which is excellent. Loosen up, take a vacation and Have Fun - Cheers 🍻

Lets just hope they keep it to the limited editions and don't make a Bubble Gum flavor tobacco next :) I wish I could buy that Dragon Blend here in New York - the Flake version is terrific, Looking forward to your next review - Stay Well.

Dear Mark, I am new to pipesmoking and I have long loved the sweet and rich scent that seems to surround pipesmokers. So far I have only tried two Vauen Auenland tobaccos, one of which I liked, the other not so much. Is there something that you could recommend me to try out? Since I smoke only very seldomly, Im looking for something an inexperienced smoker could really enjoy that is of high quality and easy to smoke. And recommendations would be highly appretiated!

I certainly hope they are not introducing electronic vaping flavors to pipe tobacco. That would be criminal and likely would motivate me away from smoking pipe. Let's hope the young-minded and the corporate-profit-minded do not take over the traditional pipe smoking heritage by the implementation of modern nonsense.

Hey Mark! I have a question for you! In WWII footage of German soldiers, many smoke an odd-shaped tobacco pipe. For instance, at 1:29 in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKPSeZ6Pmsl-g7c It seems to be some sort of bulldog pipe. Would you happen to know anything about those pipes?
