Very nice video! I'll try the snare setup you showed...I used the plastic and you're right...half the time it's ripped off the support wire and pulled down without a beaver. I need something more sturdy...thanks for showing a close up on your snare support!

I use snares for beaver in areas a foot trap or 330 conibear might catch a dog. I usually put the snare on a slide wire to a sack of rocks though. It works pretty well, and it's a good way to reuse part of my coyote snares since they need to be short cable.

I like 3/32nd cam lock snares. I load them myself. I use the same size snares year.round

Hey great Video, just wondering if you have the issue of catching beavers alive in snares often. I set snares last season and every beaver I caught in my snare was around the chest right behind the front legs and they were alive. I made a 9 inch loop in my snares but didn't seem to matter.Cheers

Thanks pal! yes just about all of my open water beaver are alive when I snare them unless I add a drowner and they are a pain to add to a snare. I prefer snaring them through the ice.

I just use a piece of thin wire about 8 inches long. twist one end around the coil on the end of the spring and the other end simply wrap around the safety. I show it in a few videos.

Some great catches keep it up, you should use a safety latch if one off those 330's go off you will wished you did, but great video

+Moonshine Trapper I used to use them years ago but they are just inconvienent now and slow me down. I'm worked with 330s for many years now and am very careful and comfortable around them. Thanks for watching though!

Todd Mann it gets positioned between the jaws so the trap doesnt swing back and forth
