Amy, don't forget the trick I mentioned last year about the gnats. Pin a fabric softer sheet to your shirt to keep gnats away. If they are really bad, tuck one in your shoes too,leaving it to hang out.

I'm located in South Carolina, straw is definitely used here, however I prefer the look of mulch in the front of the house, I use straw in the backyard. I think the mulch just makes everything look so much cleaner and neater...

My daughter is 29 and i still love watching! I have 3 chihuahuas and everytime the boy, elwood, hears 'hi. Im amy darley' he runs into the room to listen to your voice while he snoozes on the couch. Its so funny! Ive mentioned before that i have a few chronic illnesses and the past couple weeks they were holding me down with excessive fatigue so i wouldve been just as happy if your video today was hours long bc i have tons to get done! In the area I live I can schedule a pickup through Veterans of America for my used clothing and small appliances. You designate where you are leaving them ( on your porch or driveway) with it clearly marked and they come right to your house. It's convenient and everything goes to our veterans!

I live in the upstate of SC. It's very common to put pine straw in your beds. I love black mulch, but my husband likes pine straw. He like mulch too, but hates putting it out and how fast it fades. Last spring, we put out bags of black rubber mulch in our backyard beds. It's the best decision we've made! So this year, we bought several bags from Sam's Club and did our front yard beds. They say it lasts 12 years without fading. It was expensive, but compared to what we spend to replenish mulch or pine straw each year, it's worth it! Best decision ever 🙌🏼

It is Tuesday morning (6:30am) as I am sitting down to watch your latest video. So far today I have washed 2 loads of laundry, cleaned our bathroom (mirror, sink, vanity top, and toilet), put a load of dirty dishes in the dishwasher and unloaded them once they were finished, and wiped down the stovetop. I still need to vacuum the living room, but I am going to sit down and relax for a bit.

I like the pine straw. We used to use pine straw but switched to mulch. Not really sure. I think my husband just liked the look of darker colored mulch. So it was more about the color. But it’s def not weird to use pine straw in NC either 😉

Great video! I'm from west TN and we have used regular mulch and pine straw. I like pine straw better because it keeps our dog from digging in our flower beds and landscaping. I think it looks fabulous as well, especially fluffed up and looking full. However, my husband favors regular mulch. Your home is looking spring and summer ready-absolutely beautiful!

I live in central NC and we use pine straw. We have also used mulch in the past. We stick with pine straw because we have large oak trees and it is easier to blow leaves out of the pine straw than mulch in the fall.

Hi Amy! After you take the stopper out of the garage disposal take a paper towel and run it around under the rim. You would be surprised of the slime that gets trapped under there.

I love your pine straw! I think we don’t see it in our area of Oklahoma because of the wind, I think the pine straw would blow away easier than the mulch. My husband prefers rubber mulch just to avoid replacing it so often and to not have wood mulch against the house. Great video as usual!

I hate pine straw 😂 I’m so glad the house we are renting only has one big maple tree so that I only rake up leaves. I use that for mulch in my garden beds. But we like wood mulch for the landscape beds around the house. Pine straw also leaks a bunch of acid into my garden beds and a lot of my vegetable plants don’t like that.

I honestly have never heard of pine straw, we use very black mulch for our flowerbeds. It’s very thick and damp when you lay it down and when you saturate with water, it looks gorgeous against the colors of your flowers. It really brings out the purples and the pink and the blues. Yours kinda looks like a bunch of hair off of a giant’s head or something lol! It’s definitely unique for someone who has never seen it before! But I’m sure it looks great in the end 🥰📃

Chance made the yard look.great. i'm in Florida and we use the red cedar mulch. we do a combo of green bushes and some seasonal florals. I also put some big pots of bell peppers and cherry tomatoes.
