Those Mountain View’s of the sunset was beautiful. Great campsite area too. Love it beside the creek. Your hiking trail on day 2 was so beautiful. Spring Creek trail gets two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻.

The spring light in the woods and that glorious sunset that looked like the sky was on fire behind those dark trees!!! Thanks so much for this Spring trip. Take care - you and the T are not as young as you used to be, so it's very important to stay properly fueled and hydrated!!

Nice trail along the creek. Don't have to worry about finding water here. Glad you were able to complete your loop. You seem to know what to do when your body is sending you signals, electrolytes, salt. Good to see you brought a pad for Timber to lay on. And there's always that beer at the end of the trail. Thanks Travis.

I challenged myself to complete that route, and even when it got tough I kept pushing on... so no one to blame but myself if I didn't have an overall good time. 😂 But on trips like this one, you know there is going to be some pain. I'm sure you're well aware, maybe more than most, that getting your head in the right place will make all the difference and make the trip more enjoyable. I'll need that trick in the Mallard Larkins.

Nice little early season trip. Those leg cramps can be brutal. Last fall I got camp all set up at Silver Lake and took about an hour nap. Woke up and as I was hanging my legs over the edge of my hammock to put my boots on, leg cramps came on hard in the back of my thighs. Had no choice but to limp around in agony for a little bit, hyperventilating to blow off some CO2 and try to alkaline my blood a big to counteract the lactic acid which I (correctly, I think) suspected was responsible for the cramps. Thankfully didn’t get them on the hike in. Interestingly, if they hit while on the trail, it’s the front of my thighs. But yeah, I’m learning to be cautious about letting my legs dangle over the edge of my hammock after a while on the trail. Might try to have antacids on hand to take prophylactically for the lactic acid. Plus the calcium is supported to help.
@mountainwanderer
@mountainwanderer 7 ай бұрын
That sounds painful! I'm not sure why, but it seems that "hammock" cramps are a common thing. There has been more than a few times that I swing out of the hammock and as I start to put my shoes on, feel them coming on.

Oh man i feel u on the Cramps. On the way out of Moran Basin last year both my hamstrings cramped up and i couldnt walk. Never had that happen before...and the pain as u know is excruciating. Thank god Bird Dog had some electrolites. Saved my tail that day. FYI Gatoaide isnt good for plants,even if it is high in electrolytes. Beautiful sunset shots. Using the drone to capture sunsets is my favourite thing now. Throw a CPL filter on there and it really adds depth to those clouds. Great video...perfect length...was doing stair stepper while watching...and it was 4D submersive. It was like i was there hiking along with ya man! lol
